LSI

After reading message #255489 about LIA/LSI, I received a phone call today from LSI (call it coincidence). They were trying to schedule a closing at 2pm unfortunately it was 12p and not enought time for me to confirm closing, wait for docs, print docs, and fight traffic to drive to bo's home. I guess what was said in that message was true because usually it would've been LIA calling me and to that I would've turned it down for non-payment reasons and not scheduling reasons......Thanks LSI for coming to your senses...........

This is why all the unpaid notaries need to let the title co know Lia is not paying them this will cut into LIA big time this is the best way to try to stop Lia crooks....

I told LSI about Lia as well. I hope it is true that they dumped them. It was beyond articulation the headache I had trying to get paid. This industry is hard enough right now, if there is a silver lining, hopefully the down turn will clean house and what is left are the companies that value our services and understand that we need to get paid......on time.

I am confused, as I am soooo often on these boards

How far a drive was this? I'm questioning why 2 hours isn't enough notice.

confirm closing - 2 minutes
wait for docs - doesn't matter, you print when they arrive
print docs - 20 minutes, tops
drive time - 1.5 hours???

Learn to multitask. I have it down to a science with

printing, putting make up on and ironing my clothes all at the same time. If I can just remember to change out of my flip flops before heading out the door. lol

I know what you mean

***Learn to multitask. I have it down to a science with printing, putting make up on...***

Yeah, but the makeup is the most critical. Covers up the 36-hour beard.

Out where I am, 2 hours is the minimum notice I need

and that's if the signing is in my home county. Drive time is a minimum 30-40 minutes and my printer does not print 2 150-page packages in 20 minutes...

Re: Out where I am, 2 hours is the minimum notice I need

When I am in a pinch, I run both Brother laser printers at the same time. I am out the door in 10 minutes tops! Although I was not always so lucky. I only use it for extreme circumstances. I thought my first brother died on me, turned out to be the rotten refurbished toner and drum causing all the problems. So now needless to say I have two BW laser printers when I need to print in a hurry.

I find it much faster to print ONLY ONE set and then to

make a copy of that set w/ the copy function of my printer. Done in 3/4 of the time. Consider that if you have a multitasking printer ... of course you cannot put them all in at once but it gives you lots of time to dress and CHANGE SHOES!!!!

Yeah, don't forget the "change shoes" part...

I left the house very early this morning to go to a breakfast meeting where I had to speak for a few minutes. A half hour after I left the meeting, I noticed that I had on one black shoe and one navy shoe! (Same shoes, different colors.) I doubt anyone noticed, but talk about feeling stupid! (And, of course, I ended up with some general notary work right away, so I didn't have time to come back home to change right away...)

When I leave to my next appt. in a little while, I will have on two matching shoes!!! Smile

Traffic in many areas of Louisiana is terrible after Katrina

and it takes an hour and often even longer to get places that mapquest tells you 15 minutes. So if you are not at home when the call comes, it is not physically possible to get to another closing many times... I live in Baton Rouge and in rush hour traffic it can sometimes take 30 minutes to get to the highway that is two miles from my house. Just to clear things up from this perspective
