I can not for the life of me figure out why they would call me, a SS to do closings for $85.00 with e-docs and excpect me to say, OH YA I WANT YOUR WORK.

I suppose then I can call my notaries and ask them to let me pay them $50.00 for a closing with e-mail docs, oh ya and drive 25 miles one way, NOT GONNA HAPPEN IN MY LIFE TIME.

The nerve of them to think that a reputable ( at least I think so ) SS like Negrete's Notary Service Inc would take such sh&^%t work form a very large Title Co.

No,never, and he&^% no.

Sorry, I needed to vent on that silly phone call I got today folks, hope you don't mind.

Dear Anthony, at least they offered you $85. I received a letter the first of the year from a "Big Covering all States" Agency, informing me of a new policy. No matter what the distance e-docs paid $75 and docs provided paid $50, their reasoning, in the long run, everything would even out. I am experienced in all phases of legal work with emphasis in real estate, mortgages to reverse mortgages and have been a Notary since 1962, you said what I wanted to say, but I did hold my temper , I only hope you told the company exactly how you felt, I just politely refused any more orders from them. The name is not the same, but I dare say it is the same company--they were using 4 different business names the first of the year, who knows how many now? You'll make is up in Good signings, one day, maybe, the Agencies will understand if they don't pay well enough, we aren't going to work, if we don't work, they don't get the nice dollars of which they pay us about 10%. Good Luck and don't let a small minded company get by with small dollars.

I had only a couple of experiences with LandAm OSS. It was horrible & I told them I would not work for them. Today, I got a call from a co. in MN to have just a DOT re-signed (overnight docs-$50 fee). When I got the confirmation, it came from LandAm OSS. That didn't make me very happy.

I do quite a lot for LandAmerica. Never less than 1XX one as much as 2XX. Yes they will try to low ball you and it's insulting. I guess I loose a couple deals but like everyone else, I can't (won't) work for free. They do pay twice a month!

Yes, LandAm is huge. It seems that the only problems come out of the Moon Township, PA operation (Land America One Stop Signing).

I also got 1XX and close to 200 from LandAmerica. Maybe next time negotiate before hanging up? I usually negotiate and get what I want.
