Re: Ilene, did they bounce a check to you, too?
Heavens no, however I did a closing for them last week and was a little worried. I emailed my contact person at LFC and she said no way a check would bounce and forwarded my email to a VP. We'll see what happens.

Just heard from LFC and they state: On the "bounced" check, if the notary removed the bottom of the check on it's perforated edge they sometimes disrupt per say the barcode and this can reflect as NSF. Just fyi. Let's face it everyone this is a first on bounced check for LFC, maybe there is a problem with the check (paper). Guess this is a wait and see from original post.

Re: Lender First Choice - hope for a perf edge error.
A "first" bounce means that the account holder is almost 99.9% sure to have bounced others and the bank is tired of paying them.
As I have said before, this is common courtesy unless the account holder takes advantage of it. Even my then-student son had a couple of checks covered for him by his financial institution when he "bounced"...and no, he had no over-draft protection. They paid the checks but charged him NSF fees that made him go "ouch".
Cassie doesn't strike me as a person who doesn't know how to present a check for deposit. But, we shall see!

any checck of mine that has a damaged or obscured......
bar code, the bank pastes on a printed barcode [which makes the check a little wider [top to bottom] ] and then runs it through.....brenda is right they don't usually bounce checks unless it is a recurring practice.

Even if that happened, banks usually attach their own info and process it . . .

Wonder if the check came back as NSF or some other reason? Maybe she didn't look at the form, just that it was returned??

I left a message for Susan Orton today of the accounts payable department. She called me back and said that they were having some issues with their bank and corporate decided to close the account. (Whatever that means?) She asked me to please send her the proof that the check bounced and of $19 fee I was charged and as soon as they got their new account up and running (ok? how are they funding?), which shouldn't take more than a few days she would cut me a new check for the total amount. Doesn't sound kosher to me. I think I'll get my check, but how on earth are they funding stuff and how does a large corp like that have such issues and no back up plan?
