Loan Docs Now --- BEWARE
I did closing for them 5/23 & 5/30. JUST recieved payment and both checks were bad. Just a heads up on anyone who might take work from them. You have to chase your $$ down only for it to be a bad check. I will persue. I hope they don't think i'm going away that easily.

Filed complaint with BBB and Bad checks restitution, states attorneys office. Guess that is about all I can do for now. Small claims court if I have to. I hate this crap.

It's been 50 days since you did the first signing. I agree it's a little slower than we'd like, but getting payment at 45 to 50 days is not really unusual. If this is Loan Documents Now which is owned by Tammy Mazak, I haven't done a signing for them in over a year, but I never ever had a problem getting paid by them. Looking back, I see that for all the signings I did for them, it was typical to be paid in 38 to 43 days. I also knew Tammy to be an honest and fair person, and I would hope you made an attempt to resolve this issue with her before posting this message. When someone has a history and reputation of fairness and honesty, I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. I assume that you've talked to her about this?

Taxpro, I don't think the problem was when they received
payment but the fact the payments bounced. A-1 said the checks were bad, not about how long it took. I don't know if the company you are referring to is the same as the one A-1 is talking about but, 2 bounced checks from a company is not fair and honest. It's a crime and something you cannot give the benefit of the doubt; especially when so many doors are closing.

Re: Taxpro, I don't think the problem was when they received
I agree, bouncing checks is a bad thing, but I wouldn't automatically assume it was intentional unless other facts and circumstances led me to that conclusion, such as 1) payor has shown a pattern of non-payment and/or check bouncing, or 2) payor has a reputation for stiffing notaries. Since A-1 did not mention either of these circumstances, I am wondering what led him/her to the conclusion that LDN is intentionally trying to stiff him/her, and did he/she try to discuss the matter with them before posting. I do not blindly defend anyone, especially when I haven't worked for them in over a year, but I also do not automatically assume the worst either. I will give someone who has been fair and honest with me in the past a chance to explain and correct the problem. If a pattern develops, that's a different story.

That's correct. I don't know if this is the same company A-1 is dealing with, and he/she hasn't clarified that yet.

I agree Taxpro
Tammy is a very nice person on the phone when giving a signing. Has nothing to do with getting paid though. JMHO

One bad check could have been an accident,
but not 2! Stop defending these SS's! Yes, they may have been fair and honest, and it would have been more honest to say "I'm sorry, I don't have the capital to pay you right now, can you wait a week or 2?" Instead, this causes bad check fees and costs everyone more money. So in turn, the company is just creating a snowball effect which they may not be able to come out from under.

Re: One bad check could have been an accident,
Whoa!! Read my post again, I'm not "defending these SS's!" It sounded like both checks came at the same time, so one accident could cause both to bounce. Again, I'm not assuming it was an accident, and I'm not defending them. But it's only reasonable to check it out first. I would hope anyone would do the same for anyone else.

Re: One bad check could have been an accident,
LDN did call me back. She said she'll be getting money orders to me as I won't accept another check. She seemed very surprised and upset by the NSF. I don't know them at all since these were my first dealings with them. I will see is she follows through on her promise to actually come here and give me the money orders. I told her just to over night them but she prefers to hand deliver. I hope she will keep her word. I do have the checks from the bank still. This is my first time having this happen to me. Typically I won't say anything about a company taking up to 45 days to pay. I don't agree with it but as long as the check is good, I deal with it taking, IMO too long to pay. I will post when (and if) I recieve payment. Not my practice to trash anyone. My post served only as a warning as other posts like this always do. That is how we all avoid companies that do this type of thing. Too many of us in this job getting screwed these days to not help others by warning them. Lets hope LDN is one of the one's to keep their word.

Re: Loan Docs Now -REPLY FROM THE OWNER
My deepest apologies.. my book keeper, who is MY SISTER had made an accounting error... we did make good on these checks immediately, which by the way were never deposited, so the notary was not charged any NSF fees.. Payments have been a little slower across the board, but we pay. I mostly close loans in my area now.. we don't contract out a whole lot of work these days. Again, A-1 this was certainly not intentional.
