At one time something like 26 Title Companies, 6000 employees, a couple of corporate jets, now ??? Maybe it really is slow out there? Well lets all be optimistic! Perhaps that bounced check from LFC wasn't because they changed banks?

Re: Mercury Companies closing offices - LOL

Clicked over to the "Pink Bunny Ears" blog and low and behold, the ad served at the top in BIG bold letters was:

PET ANAL GLAD REMEDY.

I think that the way this company told their employees is just plain wrong! This effects everyone and they should have been given notice. It looks like they got an email telling them to pack up and leave immediately.

I hope the owners get what they deserve.

Many people here in Denver got one day notice, said we are closing this office don't come in tomorrow. No severance, no separation pay, nada. No thanks for the last 20 years, just by-by.

Just as an update. Looks like LFC is closing their CO office also.

Financial Title closed it doors today

Just got an email from an escrow officer here in San Jose. Effective
immediately, Financial Title will cease doing business in Northern CA-
maybe elsewhere? Just a heads up in case you have $$ coming from them.

I've been trying to reach the LFC Texas and Florida offices regarding payment on a closing and I can't reach anyone, only getting voicemail.

Your worried about 1 signing, I have over $2100 outstanding with them.........Looks like many of us got screwed.

Yes Marcus I am worried about 1 closing. I don't like to work for free. It's the same thing. And the reason I'm only out for 1 is because I stopped doing business with them when they lowered their fees. That was the first indication that there were problems. The only time I did a closing was when they couldn't find a $65 signing agent and had to pay my fee. Sorry anyone is out ANY money. I don't think any of us can afford not to be paid for each closing we complete.

thanks, Diane. That's going to cut back on some of

those far reaching title companies.

But we all knew eventually there would be a bottom to this well.

paradigm shift

Not so sure about that, Brenda. This is a massive market correction. Where we end up is anybody's guess at this point. When it's over, survivors will pick up the pieces and figure that one out. Wink
