Oh well....Missed out on another great assignment.....

for tomorrow. Got a call today from LoanClosers.com, gal said she was in a bind and wondered if I could help her out with a signing tomorrow. She proceeded to tell me that it was an overnight doc and that it was in Menlo Park. I told her that I didn't service that area, she must have been desperate cause then she asked me how much I would charge her to do the signing. I quoted $xxx, she repeated what I quoted then she laid the bombshell. She said the borrowers were in a bind and were supposed to sign this past Saturday and would lose their loan, so they were willing to pay extra etc, etc. So, would I back date? Of course I said no, and she said, "oh, you wouldn't feel comfortable with that? Well I just wanted to run that by you.?" Oh well, gotta stay home again.... Not really, I have a non profit tax client to help instead. More fun than doing something illegal!

Good decision. The same happened to me on Friday. Loan Officer wanted me to sign on Sunday, but date documents for Saturday & also "not tell the title company". I said Sorry-No-Can-Do. I can sleep at night without your money, but I can't sleep at night without my integrity.

Dunno 'bout that, John. My memory -- along with a few other things -- is not as good as it once was, but I do recollect that as a young man I enjoyed a few flings that could have put me in stripes. They were a danged sight more fun than staying home.
