Slightly off topic - What All-in-1 machine do you use?
We really need a new one for our office and I don't know where to begin! My criteria are that is be network compatible, laser and in the $300.00 or below range.
Thank you.

I have an HP 3050 all-in-one. I don't think it's network ready & doesn't have a flatbed scanner. You can also shop HP online & they often have "refurbished" units for sale at great prices. I'm not an e-bay person, and prefer to buy direct from the source & be able to get warranties. It's worth a look. Canon also makes some terrific units--not sure if they're under $300. A big issue for me has been the cost & volume of toner cartridges. Some of the units out there are cost-prohibitive from that stand point. Sorry, way more info than you asked for.

I have an HP 3380; it's a workhorse...
and I get replacement cartridges from LD Products for $30 each when I buy 6.

I have the Brother MFC-8460N;....
paid just under $350.00 for it at Staples or Office Max. It's not my main printer but what I have copied and printed on it comes out very clear...think it prints around 30 pages/min.

Thank you both. Wow, that was fast! I will check out both of your suggestions.

Yes, I forgot that part. The 3050 is not my main printer. I thought I could use it that way when I was starting out--way too slow & not enough memory for doc packages. I use it for faxing, scanning & copies.

One of my tenants is a business machine dealer who specializes in HP and they have some really great deals on HP all-in-ones. I personally don't like an all in one machine but it is just my personal preference based on the possiblility that if one part goes out then you are faced with having to replace that one function with another machine. I don't know if that has happened to anyone here but that is just one of my considerations. The other consideration is that all-in-ones don't have the capabilities I need but then my needs are different than a notary's would be.

Just got Brother MFC-7840W -- love it! So easy to set up on network! Software takes a little getting used to, but otherwise it's a breeze. 23ppm, pc-fax, print, scan, stand-alone fax, copy. Only drawback is that there is only 1 try -- cannot add a 2nd, and comes with 32MB memory, again cannot add on. For me, it's a backup printer and primary fax & scanner, so I can do without the memory upgrade and dual paper tray features.
