Toner and drum related desperation, frustration!
I am at my wits end with these Brother refurbished toners and drums. I can't seem to find any that will work properly and not leave a black line down the left or right margins of the page!!! The brand new drum and toner do not do this, but the brand new ones are breaking my bank!! I have ordered from Tonerbell, Concord Supplies, Ink 4 U, and a few others and have had no luck. I use two brother laser printers 5150DL and the 5250DN.
Does anyone have any suggestions or could recommend a company that has WORKING refurbished drums and toners. I used to use them from Ink4U with no problem for the longest time. Suddenly it all changed and they are just worthless!

Try L & D products, just put in search engine. I had a problem with my laser fax with the lines and changed the drum and cartridge but it didn't go away so took it to a repair shop. It was white out on the roller. Why not try taking to an office repair shop for a cleaning?

I buy from inkjetstar.com
use both HP and Brother - have never had a problem with any products from them.

When I had a black line running down the page, I too changed the toner and drum but the black line remained. It turned out to be the "fuser" unit. The fuser roller had a scratch going around it - creating the line. I changed the fuser unit and the line stopped. (My printer is a HP Color LaserJet 4500).

Fuser would be my thought as well, but when you say it doesnt happen with the originals when they are replaced is perplexing. If you have a fuser unit that is visible, check it and you should be able to see a line on it in the same place the paper has a line. Good luck.

Re: Thanks all
I did call a repair shop and he said that it could not be the fuser unit because when I buy the brand new toner and drum and put it in, it stops and everything prints really great. So not sure, I think refurbished toner quality is the problem.

Buy a used commercial HP off Ebay
Expensive Drums are the very reason I will never buy a Brother for this business. Two weeks ago I bought an HP 4200 (35 pages per minute) for under $200. It had less than 10K pages printed (rated for 150k+) on it and I get my toners for $25 (rated for 12K pages). I bought one of these new a few years back and have over 300K pages printed on it, so I am happy with this machine.
The cost of the machine is made up in very little time because 1. you don't have to periodically replace the expensive drum and 2. the toners are so cheap and long lasting.

I've had the problem before with the Brothers. I buy my drums from LD Products. I also completely clean the drum between changing the toner cartridge.
