Would you notarize this?

Someone called me today and asked me if I was able to Notarize a letter. The following story was given to me: The husband of the person in interest died and had bought a burial site. He did not leave a will nor did he leave the burial site under his wife's name. The daughter who is still living sais that her mother is going to pass away any minute however she has alzheimers as well. She wants me to sign a letter stating that she has the right to make any decisions for her mother. however the mother is not coherent of what she is saying or doing. In order for the burial site to grant the remaining property to the wife, they asked for a letter notarized stating that the daughter has authorization to make any decisions pertaining the property. But how can I notarize this type of letter if the person of interest is not coherent? Did I do the right thing and asked them to see a Probate Attorney?

Doesn't seem like something that I would want anything to do with.... I think you did the right thing in referring....Good job! And most likely, you don't even know the ENTIRE story, but from what you said, I would run the other way!
