reporting non payment
I did a closing through a signing agency for Eagle Mortgage. They are insisting that i missed some docs, but won't provide proof. They never called me to clear the matter, just refusing payment. Who can I report them to? The signing agency didn't get paid so they can't pay me either? what do I do?

First, check with the county to verify if the mortgage/DOT
YOU notarized was recorded.
Second, check with the TC to get their side of the story.
Third, call the borrowers to ask if another notary was sent out with additional documents.
If the documents you notarized were recorded, tell the SS, TC and lender you will be initiating a suit in small claims court. Obtain the required paperwork for the suit, complete it and send it to the parties involved with a deadline for them to pay the monies owed or you will be filing the suit.
Good luck.

I would check the public records and see when it was recorded. If it was recorded within a reasonable time then I would think they were trying to stiff you. Then I would file a formal complaint against them with the Secretary of State where they are located. JMO.

I performed 1/2 of a signing and the second half never occurred, I thought the deal had extinguished, but I stopped by to see the borrowers, in their 80s who were doing a reverse mortgage on their 40 year home. They were evacuated for the Santa Barbara/Goleta fire this week, and were just getting back and unpacked. Lovely Italian couple with a lot of heart, it was so wonderful to meet them and assist them....turned out the lender in San Diego, JETT FINANCIAL, hired another notary to complete the final signing of documents, and so I wasn't paid at all. I've emailed them to pay up on the first half of the signing...Another company that I may have to take to small claims...unbelievable the lack of integrity of some of these companies~
