50.00 Trans Union anyone?
Is anyone else getting emails from Trans Union wanting fees lowered to 50.00 so they can automatically set up your appointments for you? Is anyone actually seeing this as a benefit to their business?
Let me think about this, cut my fees by xxx.xx and then let them fill up my schedule so I have no choice when the good paying closings come along. Sure TU sign me up!
NOT!

Hummm ! I think not. Eveytime I get an email from them the delete key is my favorite. Regular gas here is now over $3. 15/gal.
Anyone out there, are you seeing the price of anything going down.

Unfortunately, yes. The price many title companies are willing to pay us to complete the same job we've been doing for them for years. The kicker is they all promise volume, but none have delivered so far.
It's a sad state of affairs in our industry and the XYZ is to blame, IMO. Greed and absolutely no responsibility to those they are suppose to serve is why we are where we are in this industry. Greedy bastards!

Could you refer me to the post numbers that speak of what XYZ has done to the SA industry. I've searched and have only found the posts that vilify them without pinpointing their actions/beliefs. Thanks.

Posts? Who needs posts to back up what I say.
Just take a look at their past advertising campaigns, their piss-poor attempt in GA, their false representation of GLB and their never ending list of new sections being added under the guise of "notary work."
Gee, let me see...they have completely saturated every major market with NSAs promising BIG earnings with little effort and now have depleted that source of income. What's a big, HUGE, greedy organization to do next? Why exploit notaries some more, of course, and this time it's with more bogus certifications such as Bankruptcy forms processing and the end all be all, foreclosure posting and asset verification. Where's John Stossell when you need him? Gi'me a break!
I'm sure I'm not the only board member that can't help but notice how this nasty notary assoc. searches the community to find out what others are doing in a slow market and then turns around and figures out a way to capitalize on it and over exploit it just like they did to the SA role.
Is it just me? How is this kind of exploitive behavior good for my profession and why the heck should I support a not-for-profit that is suppose to be looking out for the best interest of all notaries, but only seems to be interested in robbing its members and lining their pockets?
Please, do tell.

No need to be so defensive. I didn't ask for posts to "back up" what you said. I asked so that I could read the previous conversations on this issue.
Recently, a few have posted topics and the response is "use the orange search button, this has been discussed before". I just wanted to read the prior discussions since XYZ seems to "strike a nerve" with so many here.

Don't be fooled about them being a "not-for-profit" organization. This is just one more deceptive practice. They have a non-profit foundation that apparently does some good works, but I imagine is a small portion of their operation. That's probably where the ".org" comes from. But that's as close as they get. [jmho]

Search button will turn up lots of posts with dissatisfied p
people and their contacts with XYZ (NNa)
One of the things that they did was to tell everyone, not just the notaries, that $65 for a signing was enough. Then, they went on to give other pricing, including that $25 for edocs was sufficient. Then in another article, they backpedaled and stated that $25 for edocs was not enough, presented their evidence via a formula to substantiate that $35 was more profitable, but only did that as musings in their newsletter, not as an announcement to all in the business.
They are very very soft on positions, they are very greedy. The billing process begins 6 mos out, and in the hopes that you will pay them, then pay them again, thus having your membership extended for 2 or 3 years, and if you point that out, well, there is nothing they can (or will) do to correct that. They have many other devious tricks up their sleeves.
They advertise that they will help you via phone, but heaven help you if you really do want them to answer a question. I called once, asked my question, and was referred to my SOS to be sure. I don't remember what the q. was, but I know it wasn't that difficult because I just haven't had anything that difficult that I can remember.
But I'm old, don't know what I am talking about, and probably am rambling and muttering unintelligably and just not 'with it' for this day and age, so take this with a grain of salt and continue with your life of demanding proof and don't do your own research, LKT/CA.

Demand proof? As I stated in the other post, recent posts about various issues were met with "use orange search button, been discussed before". I simply wanted to read the prior discussions and couldn't find anything specific so I figured someone had a post number that would lead to a thread where I could read on my own.
The info you provided does give insight as to XYZ's practices.

When they were told their Florida handbook was in error (at one time they had the notary fee a FL notary could charge was $10 per signature), they disagreed. Even when someone got documentation from the FL SOS. They said they disagreed with the FL. SOS! How arrogant. They did end up making a correction!

Several months ago I visited their site's page that recruits SA's and it stated, with excitement as a pitch, that a SA can make as much as $50!! . ... whoa hoo!! Makes you just giddy thinking about it, huh? And how in the hell did they come up with that little number anyway?

I was just remembering today (as I was filling my tank) the good old days - not all that long ago - when I could fill my tank with a 20 and get change back... [heavy sigh...] BTW, I was paying $3.41 at Costco, which seems to always have the cheapest gas. That savings alone has probably made the membership worthwhile! (Plus paper, etc.)

The last time I performed was December and they paid me a decent fee $$$ without any inquiry. I will work for them unless they reduced their fee.

Unfortunately it's not just TU. I am getting emails from several of my vendors.
I would like to know from each of them - are they asking their own employees to take pay cuts also or are they continuing to get their salaries and their annual pay increases?
I hadn't raised my fees in 4 years and decided to do so last month. My costs are up why should my fees go down?
I continue with the approach - call me, I'll tell you my fee - if you pay it GREAT, if not I'll wait for the next one.

Trans Union lost me about a year ago, after an ENTIRE YEAR attempting to get them to correct my mailing address in their system. After a calendar year, the post office won't forward mail from a previous address. I notified them repeatedly that I could not accept closings if they were not going to get my checks to me at my current mailing address. I finally told them to take me out of their databaseentirely,so I no longer receive those "wonderful" $56 assignments. The address follies were even more complicated, and made my decision even easier. A scheduler told me one time that EACH SCHEDULER had to change my address in her own computer. Evidently, there was no master database. Hopefully, they have corrected these issues since January of 2007 for those of you who still do business with TU....Or, just don't ever move from your current address. Oh, and of course none of my written communications with them were ever answered.
