I hired a company to come to my late father-in-laws house. In his garage was 10 filing cabinets full of 50 years of marital stuff and business stuff. We went through it piece by piece, kept what we needed and wanted and shredded the rest. It was a great service for us. We watched it being shredded in front of us. Great idea.

Around the Pocono/Allentown area I've seen the large trucks with built in huge shredders that take 100 lbs of paper at a time and charge by the lb. I've seen them at auto dealers and insurance companies ... I wonder how a little van like that would compete ... maybe pick up the smaller business these large guys won't do ... funny, a friend of mine last week had a similar idea ... maybe it could be incorporated ...

I've had a BIG truck come to me the past 3 years for shredding. I now use GoodWill because their profits are kept in house. Not sure what it costs but I always have a lot to be shredded (maybe 10ish legal boxes). They also give you some type privacy compliance certificate.
