Forwarded Emails

When you get an email w/attach (say closing docs) are you in the habit of scrolling through the forwards to see if there were any instructions included in the previous emails?? Ie: You get docs from the SS, who has forwarded them from Title, who forwarded them from another dept in the Title co, who frwd them from the lender. All of which include there own little blurb upon forwarding.

OR

do you assume all of the info you need is either included in your direct email from the ss/title and the closing instructions in the document pkg?

Cover all your bases and if there is something in email gibberish question it.

I had one with the previous notaries fee listed...

which of course was not what I agreed to (though my fee was in the $xxx range) I argued for the same fee - TC response was "...that notary lived much farther than you, bla bla bla" I then gave them an ultimatum, though risky, but I wasn't going to do it for less - TC eventually gave in...so sometimes, it 'pays' to read all the jibberish in those forwarded emails...

BTW, haven't heard from that particular TC in awhile, wonder why....he he he Smile

Well I'm sure the extra $25 or $50 you got for that one signing was worth making sure they never called you again. If that's your idea of it paying off to read all the forwarded emails, then I just don't know what to say that doesn't include calling you a complete idiot.

I think it's repulsive that you would agree to a fee, then basically try to blackmail them into giving you a higher fee once you had the docs in your hands. Not to mention HIGHLY unethical.

are we PMSing or mid-life crisis??

...don't take it on me (or any other notary posting here for that matter) but it seems you're on a roll tonight...tell me, is it really hard being perfect or do you get off by reaming other people out on this blog? In reading some of your other postings here tonight, I tend to think it is the latter....

BTW, me not asking for the higher amount would've been unethical - blackmail, don't think so..

If this particular TC was going to pay the other notary, who was previously scheduled with a day or two in advance $XXX, then why should I settle for less?

That notary was no more than 2 miles from me, so mileage wasn't a factor as TC tried to argue; and that notary bailed on them at the last minute.

I was the last minute replacement and I should've been given the respect if not option of the previous notary fee...I've been in similar situations with other TC companies, and they tell me straight out in advance what the fees for the other notary was and ask if I would work for that amount - got to tell you, I haven't refused one yet. And I still work for these companies, because they are professional and ethical!

However, this particular TC was clearly unethical in that they were going to screw me with the signing fee by paying me less than the other notary - so why should I let them get away with it!

Complete idiot think not.

P.S. Take a chill pill before posting or don't post until you are sane! Posting in anger doesn't help much with your rep....
