JG Wentworth....Any new information?

They claim to have a new payment policy in place and now have no problem with payments. They claim to pay the notary directly now. Does anyone have any recent experience. The last post I saw was from May of 07.

I recently worked for them and they met my fee and paid quickly (within two wks). I'd work for them again.

I got paid too, after I wrote the chief legal officer, but

that was May 2007

I only did one job for them and they paid me through Pay Pal after I mentioned that they didn't have a good payment history. That was 5/07.

In my opinion only!
I’m actually proud of what I do. I always do the best I can. I also try and be helpful (within the law) to people in distress that need a notary. I do “pro bono” if it suits me, or I charge what I like (for my travel time). I also work for whom I please, when I please. In my opinion J G Wentworth is a predator. Preying on the unsuspecting, and uninformed. I would not be a party to their dealings if they paid in front. They have a long and wide reputation of not paying ‘their contracted’ Notaries. I have heard NOTHING good about them EVER, from anything but an anonymous source. You must decide who you will and will not work for. They are in my opinion, SCUM, and THEIVES! Work for them if you must…. but be warned, that you are contributing to a scheme that is at least bordering on illegal, and morally disgusting, or ….well, you decide, and know that you will probably NOT get paid.

Les...

Why don't you 'add a company' in signing central & link your post. Helps everyone. I have no personal experience with this co., but it sure sounds like you do.

Re: Les...

I have tried several times to add companies to 'signing centeral' and have had no success. I'm just not going to bother now.

Re: JG Wentworth....Les ......

I have done a couple, they paid me up front through paypal ..

Les, the paperwork seems up front and clear. The people I did knew that they were only getting about 50% of what they would get if they took the payments to term in their case. They wanted the money now. They seem fully informed on what the actual costs were. Bad decision on their part? Probably. Scam .. not in my opinion .. A scam is a trick on an unsuspecting person. These people knew what they were getting. You also have Peachtree funding and a couple of others whose names escape me right now.

I can't stand the commercials, though.

Re: JG Wentworth....Les ......

Yes, some time (years) ago I did two for them, somewhat close together. Got called for a third and refused. Never got a penny. I had a chance to see some of the paperwork, and believe the whole intention of this company if to take advantage of people that are in a bad spot, or simply unaware. I would not work for them if they paid me in front. In gold!
