LIA
Do I really need to post this? I think thier rep on the board speaks for itself. Well, I saw thier rep, but took a job based on the fact that they guaranteed payment in 30 days, and that the feedback had more to do about late payments, as opposed to non payments.
Well their word is as good as I thought it would be. Worthless. Failure to pay. it was a non sign, because it was a famous deals where the loan terms were nothing like the borrower expected. Nonetheless, a flat out lie by "MIGUEL" not only have I not been paid, but they don't answer phone or emails, and CALL me for new jobs. I was smart enough to deny these new jobs of course, should have before.

And once again
the age old question of "how do these companies stay in business?" is answered on this board.
I just don't know why you people bother to post warnings after the fact when you completely ignored all the warnings you read in the first place.

Strangely...
Some companies will pay certain notaries and then leave others to beg and plead. Some notaries will post no problem and others will threaten to sue the same company. In this time of famine some choose to hope that they will fall into that category of being paid. And then there are the companies who have no intent to pay anyone. It can be a gamble even with companies that have appeared to be strong, healthy companies. One can check various sites and decide whether or not to take the risk. I go to about 3 different sites and then make my decision if I have not done business with the company.

Re: Strangely...
Yeah, of course nothing is written in stone, any company can end up screwing us over. Or if there were one or two negative things on the board I could see taking the risk. But when somebody sees god only knows how many threads about Lia Signing's horrible payment practices and still decides to take the signing, well I'm sorry, that's just plain dumb.

Nothing strange about it
Pay just enough people to fool just enough saps and you've got a continuous pipeline of victims. It's not strange, it's deviously brilliant.

Even SOX and Title Stream have a few on here who sing their praises. Goes to show even the lowest of the low can get someone to back them.

I agree
I absolutely agree with all those on here who called me dumb. The notaries who take jobs from these crooks hurt all of us. I usually don't make this kind of mistake. In fact, I had at one point copied all the critisizms on the singing central and emailed it to them and rejected the job, but they said I had thier word. I guess I am a bit too trusting, but will not be in the future.

I received a call from LIA this morning (3/4) for a loan signing and it was Miguel....but he pronounced the company name as "Leah" instead of L-I-A. So I asked him if the company was L-I-A and he confirmed. Then I told him their company had a very bad rep on all the notary forums as not paying their notaries and therefore, I would decline his offer. He just said, "Um....uh...ok, thanks <click>
That company has burned so many bridges as L-I-A, now they're calling themselves "Leah"...LOL!!!
