Printer help please!

I have been trying to troubleshoot my friend's HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One. It won't print.. she can hook up her laptop and print... just not off her Dell desk top.....

any suggestions? we have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, unplugged etc NOTHING!

Not much of an option -- and I know it sucks -- but maybe a call to HP technical support? When all else fails . . . I've been told they're usually pretty helpful.

Have you turned off the desktop, plugged in the printer and then turned the puter on? Do you get a new hardware found message? If you do get a new hardware found Message, you should follow the steps to install the new printer. I went through this a month ago and found out I was WAY too impatient and was not allowing the plug n play software enough time to do its thing. It literally took 5-10 minutes for plug n play to find the drivers.
