Should have been a busy day!!

I woke up this morning with 5 to do from 2:00 until 8:00 I am now down to 2.
Borrowers cancelled 2 a reschedule went to someone else without my knowledge.
One that should have been at 3:00 was rescheduled for the end of the day because the docs aren't ready and now I am waiting for my 5:00 appointment.
But what really burns me up is the Friday reschedule that I thought was supposed to be today and that we were just waiting for docs.
It got rescheduled for today alright but then they called someone else!! This person is just a Notary Public no background check no NNA no Notary Rotary nothing.
I called this SS and said hey I am confused. Oh well we didn't know it was a reschedule if it doesn't say reschedule we just get out our list of many Notaries in Montana regardless if they are background screened or not.
Boy I tell you that is really scary because here in MT it just takes a drivers license and $20.00 and you can become a Notary.
OK I am done fuming!!

"This person is just a Notary Public" and you claim

to be? I assume this person has met all the requirements set by the folks in Helena, what makes he/she any less qualified?

We do need to respect our fellow notary.......even the ones that copy and paste our profiles into theirs. Not intended for mtnotary or Phillip.....or anyone really....

Re: Worst month in my 4 year signing history!

It's been horrible. Last month I did close to 40 closings, this month as of today 12. UGH!

Re: "This person is just a Notary Public" and you claim

There is a huge difference between a Notary Public that can do your basic notarization and one that is a trained Signing Agent and is not wet behind the ears as far as mortgage closings go.
Lately I have been asked to go out and clean up other peoples messes as far as loan docs go.
Hopefully this will not be the case this time.
If a Notary Public is serious about being a signing agent than why is he or she not listed here or anywhere else for that matter.
If I was a borrower and I knew that someone was in my home and had not been background screened I would be leery about giving that person any information about myself.
In other states such as CA you must go through a huge process to become a Notary. In MT you need $20.00 and a drivers license. The average person does not know this.
I am background checked and I am qualified to do loan signings as I have many years experience and I have a law degree specializing in Real Estate Law.
Hope this clarifies the difference between a Notary Public and a Signing Agent.
