Things have come to a hault around this area
EOM was not that bad and I thought March was heading off in the right direction. Had 4 on the books for 3/1-3/3 and had to turn down 2 for 3/3. Since Monday morning emails and calls have been dead.
The one company I work with books up next week by today and nada. I do know there was a big tele marketing push for LOs last week.
So how has March been so far? Just looking to see if some area's are busy or were all slow now.

Feb. was great - only 4 so far this month. Have noticed a big drop in CW in my area. Previously 80-85% of our work was CW.

Northern Alabama - EOM was off the charts
There weren't enough hours in the date or night to take all of the calls I received. This week has been just OK. Most of the calls have been very last minute with no flexibility in meeting times. Comparing March 08 to March 07 I'm ahead.

Re: Take a look at this chart
Long term interest rates were on a steady decline from late December, bottoming out on January 25th. Anyone who has seen a large boost in fixed rate signings in the last month might look to the following link to see why:
http://www.marketwatch.com/tools/pftools/rates/RateChart.asp?sid=159412
Brokers I work with have indicated that they have now pretty much cleared the pipelines created by that dip in rates.

I figure the beginning of the month is always slow.
In my expereince, I do 1/3 before the 15th, and 2/3 after the 15th, with of course, the big push at EOM. So I usually have a few days free in the first week to do paperwork. I am not panicing yet. So clean the house, run the errands, and update the accounting while you have a chance.

One signing this week thus far and that is for Friday..
I end up doing 41 for February and 10 in that first week. Can't believe this week.
