Track Your Business
Hello group. First post after reading many along the way. Interesting group we have here.
Just wanted to share something I use to keep track of my business with the newbies (and the rest of you as well :o) )
It's an Excel 2007 Sheet. So, if you have Excel you will be able to use it in order to track your clients, miles, expenses, account receivable, and run a couple of report to help in preparing your taxes at the end of the year.
Just wanted to share. It's free. I do welcome your comments on the tool.

I do like your website. Very informative and nicely put together. One little correction, in a couple of places, I noticed Below is spelled with 2 l's.

Looks interesting, too late to take it for a test spin tonight, thanks for making it available, the best part is being able to track your five slowest payers!

You like that?! I have a few I'm going to have to think twice about working with again.

Not shown in the screen shots but the sheet also tells you who your 5 best payers are and the 5 whom have yet to pay....

I have a older version of excel and cannot open this file. would it be possible to save it in a older format? I liked the screen shots you posted.

I added a link to a sheet that will open in Excel 97 to 2003. It will loose some of the formating that the 2007 Sheet provides. Take a look and let me know if it works ok since I can't reliably test it.

First I would like to say thank you. I have downloaded it and from what I can see so far it all is working. I have not tested all items in it though.
You have put a lot of work into this.

Thanks, glad it's working out so far. I worked on it for myself but I welcome any feedback and I'll work on improvements for you.

Microsoft has a FileFormatConverter
When I attempted to open the first file, a message popped up that said there was a file format converter available and would I like to download it. I would, and it took me directly to the Microsoft website and the download page for the converter software.

I downloaded this and when I open the file it is a read only file. It shows that it is password protected. Anyone have any ideas

Do you have a central repository where all notaries can view and post to regarding the paying habits of those who hire us? If so I would love to see it. I personally have been stiffed by people. I have not had any issues that should have caused a reduction in fee to date. (knock on wood) But there are people who have not paid me. Nor do they seem to answer their phone. I have even checked with clerk of courts to determine if a doc was filed and found it was but received none of my payment. It's interesting that notaries are always rated but not the reverse. If you have information is this available where I could take a look at it?

Re: Added Features/Reports Was: Track Your Business
Happy Easter Everyone!
If anyone reading downloaded the sheet last week I added a couple of reports and increase the number of transactions you can keep track of. I think it made it a little more functional.
