how many people have a pre-inked stamp for............
"see attached certificate" and how do you like it? The light bulb came as my hand was cramping from writing that on all the docs with the wrong verbiage. It will make life a whole easier.

stop!
stop doing what you feel like doing. This is up there with the embossing all the pages of a document to protect someone from inserting pages.

Re: stop!
I agree with Julie, we cannot add whatever we feel like it to docs just to make things easier etc. I would not do it.

Hi Julie.....
Why would it matter if you write "see attached notarial certificate" or stamp it? Either way, if you attach a loose certificate, you should indicate that on the document.

Re: Hi Julie.....
I have never seen that in the rules I have available to me. I think I hear what Julie is saying about that.

correct korey and remember that a notary block is......
not a part of he document but a document unto itself that is imbedded in the document....the document maker does not have the right to pre fill the notary block as that is only the realm of the notary......it is the notaries testament under oath that whjat is in the block is true....in wi we have to strike the block if we are going to attach a loose ack/jurat....i think the stamp is a great idea......my ho..........

Not in CA - but had a thought ...
What if you got a stamp that printed "under penalty of perjury", isn't that the verbiage that CA needs to add to most of the prepared certificates? Could it just be added that way?
No clue if it could, just had the thought.

Re: Not in CA - but had a thought ...
I guess it would depend on which state you are located in, in order to use the stamp. Ky SOS said that it would be fine to use. Ask that question to your own SOS.

When they changed the wording on California Jurats
a year or two ago, you could buy a stamp with the proper wording and stamp it on the old jurat.

Harry sells an ack stamp on this site
I've found it quite handy already, I've been able to use it on probably 80% of the documents I'd otherwise have to attach a loose certificate to.

Re: Not in CA - but had a thought ...
In CA., it's not just the "under penalty of perjury" it's also the " personally known" part or sometimes the whole thing. It's easier to attach a loose cert.

I use a stamp that says "See Attached Certificate", no problems. As stated, what's the difference whether you write it or stamp the wording. Actually the stamp looks much more professiona.

I don't get what the hub-bub is about
I cross out the incorrect wording, write, "please see attached" , I initial, and attach whatever certificate is needed. There wouldn't be any difference if you used a stamp. I also just ordered my new jurat stamp from NR because many entities don't like that attachment, but if I have to attach, I attach.

I've had one for several years...
it is SO convenient and easy. It simply states "See attached California All Purpose Acknowledgement". I stamp that and initial it, then attach loose ack.

why not just get a stamp that says what it's supposed to say and forget the 'attaching'. I 'attach' about twice a year (and that's because in PA we have very specific language regarding capacity that we use) and it seems others do it daily. Not sure what that's about.

Because usually the CA wording is too lengthy to fit on the same page, and still have room for the actual notary stamp. That is less often the case with jurats, which is why so many of us use a jurat stamp. It would be great if that would work.
