re: Closing Plus--LONG
I had gotten a call Thursday night for a signing for Closing Plus, out of Costa Mesa, CA. The call came at 6:45...gentleman said anytime this evening and that the package small and easy. (His words.) I had the time to do, so accepted. At 6:55, I received another call from the loan officer stating that I had to be at the b's house at 7! I told him that I still needed to receive the docs via email and drive to the b's house, and that would take me more that 5 minutes. I called the B and they were just grateful that someone was coming tonight! I get the docs and see that some of the info is cryptic, and the link opened up into the attached files. I obviously found this unusual so called the SS to no avail. I printed out all of my attachments and go to the signing. I try to call the SS again, but no one answered, so I left a msg. The B had a quick question so contacted the LO. I thought it would be wise to call back the LO and talk to him about how the docs came over to ensure that nothing was inappropriately sent. At this time, there also was no answer, so I proceeded with the signing. (I could kick myself at this point because I should have talked to the LO while B was on the phone with him to be sure all was ok.) When I get back and set up to send my confirmation of completion, I found another email sent from the SS exact and doubled up from the last email. Friday morning, I call the SS and again went straight to msg. I called 2 other times yesterday and got nothing! Last night when I finished another signing and was getting ready to send my confirm of completion, ANOTHER email was sent from Closing Plus the exact same way the others were sent. What the heck?? I called again and had to leave another msg. I emailed them, called them. And now am worried that the docs were incomplete. I've never had so much trouble contacting a SS. I've read some posts re: Closing Plus, but have not seen anything this unusual with them, HOWEVER...I've seen some pretty unusual scenarios posted here from other SS's. I am not a seasoned signer, but I have enough wits about me and intelligence to realize that when something doesn't look right, it problably isn't...but since I hadn't anyone to talk to and confirm with, I was left to have what was sent to me to work with. Please tell me what you think and perhaps give me some ideas as to what you would have done in this situation? Should I have not completed the signing because I had a hunch? (Can't imagine that would go over too well.) Oh, and today is Saturday...and still no contact!! UGH! Why would any SS not call the notary back??

Sounds to me that you did pretty much everything a prudent person would do.
You called the SS to clarify, they did not respond You called the LO to clarify, they did not respond either. Other than calling the Title Company directly, you called all available parties.
If you printed all documents available to you when you left, then I would consider this a complete closing. Check the time the 2nd set of documents arrived, if it is a good bit after the 1st set, or after you were to be at the closing, then it falls on the SS. If its within minutes, then I'd say maybe you missed some pages.
Call the SS & LO again on Monday to make sure everything went as planned, and explain your confusion with multiple sets of documents at different times/dates.

Good luck getting paid...lol?? Not so funny on my part...but sounds like you have been burned. I have yet to see what happens, and not liking the experience thus far...but thanks for the reply.

Thank you, Shane. I wish that made me feel better, but with a situation like this, it bothers me to know that something may have gone awry for the Borrowers and that doesn't sit well for me. However, having my actions justified does help. Thanks again, and will keep the forum posted.

Uh, Because they don't look like they are planning to pay you. I have an outstanding invoice with them right now and have not been able to reach anyone for a couple of months. My signing occured in April! They have always been good until NOW!
