Dear Signing Agency;
Dear Signing Agencies...
I know we are all busy trying to make a living. Sometimes the days can be very hectic from all the multi tasking and phone calls and other interruptions, not to mention your boss breathing down your backs.
My days are a little different than that though. Signings for us are getting fewer and farther between. You call me for an assignment and we agree upon a fee. You are usually very prompt at sending me a signing confirmation complete with Borrower information, which I use to immediately call and confirm our scheduled date.
Meanwhile, another agency is calling to try to book the same time slot, and though I am extremely grateful to them for giving me a chance to work, I have to turn them down because I have already committed myself to you and your customers. I have already located them and mapped out the route to the signing location. I have now made arrangements for someone to watch my son and I have checked my jacket, pressed my shirt, and chosen the tie for the signing (After all, there aren't that many signings these days).
Now, all I have to do is wait for the Fed Ex/UPS/DHL for the documents to arrive.
Nothing came.
We have a three hour time difference, so I'll call and leave a message because it's 9 p.m. for you and you are home now. In the morning I'll call again as apparently my message didn't get through. Looks like that message didn't get through either and the signing is in the morning, so I'll call again and finally get through to you. You were very nice in informing me that the signing had cancelled, and the apologetic tone in your voice let's me know that you are disappointed in the cancellation.
I know you are busy, but a quick call to let me know that the signing had canceled would have been appreciated, after all, this signing had canceled before you even had a chance to overnight the documents to me. If you had extended me this minor courtesy, I could have accepted the other offer (They don't come to often) and the day could have worked out after all.
So, I'll call to cancel the daycare, put my suit back in the bag, destroy the Borrower's notes and maps and think about the signing I could have had if you had shown me the courtesy of a phone call two days ago to let me know that my services won't be needed.
Thank You
