Dreeding this EOM
I live in a tourist area and the EOM is this holiday weekend. My only hope is that it rains..lol If you have travel the Garden State Parkway heading to the Jersey shore on a holiday you know its one big parking lot all weekend.
All the locals stay in on the weekends and let the Bennies have the beach on the weekend.
My first year I ran all over on 4th of July weekend and I did 3 closings in 9 hours because of traffic, never again. When some calls for a Saturday closing on Long Beach Island I say its 8am or find someone else. When I leave the island around 9am the traffic from the island to the parkway is already bumper to bumper.
Anyone else live in a tourist area that is packed during the summer, guess Long Island would be as bad as the Jersey shore in the summer.

I live on the S.Shore about 30min from the Cape. Would NEVER take a Cape call on a weekend during the summer, just not worth the hassle. Same reason why I avoid Boston signings, not worth sitting in traffic jams!!!

Shannan...OT
I was in Boston for about the last ten days of August of '01. We rented a convertible and drove to Hyannis Port then to Wood's Hole; took a ferry to Martha's Vineyard.
The entire area is beautiful. I hope to return some day.

Lucky bloody you! Why not just take a day off and go to the beach. Life is short!

I am taking the holiday weekend off
Put the Holiday schedule on voice mail and auto reply email tomorrow. Maybe some last minute deals will kick in on Tuesday when things calm down.

Re: I am NOT taking the holiday weekend off
It seems that every holiday weekend I will get calls constantly. I think all the mobile notaries in the state of Maine take off these weekends (except me). When I started out 7 years ago, I too took off the holiday weekends because I thought I deserved to give myself a break. Well, I learned that all the others were off and I could almost name any huge fee and be guaranteed that larger fee just by being available. I've even been offered $500. to do a closing because all the others were tied up, out of town or just not answering. I don't mind, because I'll take off another weekend that isn't so popular and have just as good of a time.

The Central Oregon Coast is a World Destination area.
No freeway, just a ribbon of highway meandering down the spectacular shoreline. Townies, RVers, workaday folks, construction, accidents [unfortunately]and, of course, mobile notaries trying to make deadlines.
So scheduling becomes an art.
The sun kissed our coastline today...all day.
Live is good.

Did you mean "Breeding." Well that beats working but I didn't need to know.

The 'e' and the 'a' are much closer on the keyboard than the
'd' and the 'b.' Most understood the typo to mean 'dreading,' judging by the responses.
Many posters do not waste the resources apologizing for typos, given their frequence and unimportance. Language, and tone, on the other hand, are not the same, and sometimes a clarification is warranted.
Are you familiar with the End Of the Month abbreviation? EOM has been known to be a madhouse on occasion.

Re: The 'e' and the 'a' are not that much closer together.
Not so close that fat fingers would be the culprit of a misunderstanding. I think breeding is just as likely an interpretation. And a happier activity, too, while the tourists take over the beach.
