Flagship Title Services, Hampton VA

Looks like Flagship may be going the way of EFS, 30 days payment, 45 days, now close to 90 days. emails, faxes, calls not getting the checks in my mail. I am owed 3 from March. So sad, they were really nice people to deal with.

I did one for them on March 25, 2008 no payment yet. Called several times and was told I could not call every day. Was told to send an email first one no response, second email response after about 10 days. Told by Curtis that I need to be patient. Still no payment to this date and then wanted a new contract filled out because I crossed something out and intialed it. No can do. Received my contract on March 26, so sorry if you have a problem with it after the fact. The first closing I did for them. Not impressed.

They have a lot of hoops to jump through prior to getting check out to you. I had to send my "welcome package" 4 times (and I have worked for them before - not my first time), heard all the excuses that those who are CTD (circling the drain) give, and finally got paid for Jan 08 last week. Check cleared, I think - no word from bank or thru online checking. Totally out of sync with what they say they do.

I will not work for them again - bigger risk than I want. I also told Cindy this, stating you have my W-9, you have paid me in the past, I have 3 fax transmission receipts for welcome pkg and I have no desire to work for you again. As far as I was concerned, it was unnecessary. Argued for a week (wasted time), as soon as I resent, they released check and I got within 3 days.

If you need the practice notarizing, go for it but recognize you may just get the practice and spend $$ doing it.

Did a closing for them 1st part of March against my better judgement due to all the negative feedback, promised by Curtis 30 day pay and as of today's date no pay. I should have went with the feedback and my gut feeling the only way I would do a closing for them again is if I am on HUD.

I have lots that I did in March I have been paid for the first part of march but after march 21st I have not yet. I keep asking about when I should receive payment and was told the person that writes and does the checks they will ask but they keep telling me I dont know when she is going to do them. Before they did them on the 5th and the 20th but have not been like that this time.

You are lucky, Miranda, all of mine were pre March 21st. I too was told to send the 'welcome packet' again, after working for them in 07...I did so about 3 weeks ago still no pay. I think they will give you just enough signings close together, without pay, three in my case, and then stop calling and I guess they hope you forget that they owe you. I think Cindy writes the checks, I only get her voicemail, yesterday I asked to speak w/Kim, the owner, she wasn't available so I spoke w/Curtis who said Kim would not handle such a call, that he would. I asked him about payment and he said Cindy was working on trying to get 2000 notaries paid. 2000 ? He said it was a tough job. Poor Cindy, bet she's getting her paychecks.

"Poor Cindy, bet she's getting her paychecks."

Funny - I always ask if they are getting their checks on payday, what would they do if asked to wait 2, 3 or more months? One answered "that would never happen to me" and to this day I wonder if she is still being paid or perhaps she has absconded with, well, you know. I see from reading here that this particular 'she' is still active.

I also want to know what happened to all my personal info in those welcome pkgs. I had to send. How is that safeguarding my info? They (Curtis, Kim & Cindy) have no answers. Yes, I was mad. Warning: AT YOUR RISK!

Kim is the owner. She lives in Hampton. Her company started out really small and I think they just grew way too fast. Kim started out as a title examiner as her father had some sort of connection with one of the older vendor management comapanies Chesapeake Appraisal & Settlemetn Services that was out od Maryland I think.

Not that I am defending her, I own a title company too, but if you close a deal, the fees that the notary gets paid should be sent when the file disburses and be done with it. Everyone deserves their hard earned money.

I did two for them at the end of March. Same story here, be patient, system problems, etc, etc. I see a pattern. As someone else said they seem to use someone several times at close intervals and then quit calling. I have already billed for interest and late charges at the end of May, will do so again at the end of June and then pursue a warrant in debt. If several people pursue that option, it may get their attention.

I closed one in February. Still waiting for payment. Got the same run around about Welcome Package (which I had already done closings for them in the past and been paid). Faxed it back and they claimed 2 weeks later that they had not received it. Faxed again and Cindy said she had it and would take it to processing. That was 2 weeks ago and still no check. Not worth the hassle.
