Forked tongue syndrome???
OMG...one of our posters boasts in another directory of 995 loans. The SoS says he just got his commission on 8/24/07.
995 loans signed ??? Yep...that's what his profile says.
995 loans...only commissioned since 8/2007. 995 divided by nine months...110+ loans a month...26+ loans a week. That's five loans a week day...in Texas...during this great nose dive of the industry.
Wow. Nice. Way to go! LOL.
But it gets better!! Junior...another notary...claims to have done 3100 loans...in 9 months...that's 344 a month...90 something a week...just got his commission the same day his daddy did. Wow.
And, I guess it's Momma with her 650 loans and 8 months since she got her commission.
That's just amazing!
The funny part is that they are so easily caught in this little web of deceit.

If I look myself up on state notary site, it just lists me with my renewal date, not when I originally became a notary. It looks as though, to the quick look, as though I became a notary Jan. 2007. Is this possibly the same where you were looking? Just a thought, as I don't know particulars of which you speak.

At first glance it may look that way. But, in FL, it shows "REN" (renewed). Then doing a search for other notaries with similar notary ID's (not certificate or commission number), you can find out when the notary first got their Florida commission. In your case, 1/10/03. Of course, this still may be misleading as many Florida notaries either have 'broken service' (didn't renew and reapplied as a new notary) or may have previous notary experience in another state.
The point of this exercise is that experience (or lack of it) may not be as it appears.
(Please note that this response is not a snide remark nor directed at Julianne. Just my perspective.)

Thanks PAW - didn't take in any way other than instructional. Where did you find that info? I looked, notaries.dos.state.fl.us, cannot find the same, only REN but not original date. Curious.

What you have to do is search for someone who didn't renew their commission. Search using a Notary ID that is just below or above your own. (I think I had to use your number plus 3.) Since the website gives you the current date, all you need to see is the year of issue for someone who didn't renew and voila, you have your original commission date.

Re: Forked tongue syndrome??? LOL That may be so but ..
on the Internet, I am blonde, beautiful and 21 years of age. Who is going to know the difference? I believe half of what I hear and not much of what I read on the Internet or the other medias.

Re: Forked tongue syndrome??? LOL That may be so but ..
I had someone ask why I didn't have a photo on my profile. My response: I should be like the others and post a 20 yr. old photo? No, I think not...like HudsonBayCA, I want to be 25 forever (not 21 - too young, no exp, yada, yada, yada)

I wouldn't go back to 25. I'd return to the 35-40 range if possible. As with most people ... if I knew then what I know now ...

I have that number in all my usernames. That's as close as I'll ever get to it again.

Nope. Not in Texas. It shows renewals. None were there.

Great math. I would have loved to have been him in the last 9 months. I would not even be worried about the rest of 2008 and whatever it may bring

Brenda... You make me smile! I read this board every day, and sometimes I learn something, sometimes not. However, your candor, wit, and knowledge is a pleasure to behold. Harry should pay you a commission.

Well...thank you Les. Posting ad nauseum is *my* pleasure whether it is for anyone else or not. It's filled lots of hours for me (obviously) and I have made some very fast friends I will keep forever. I happened onto NR when I was new in a town where I didn't know anyone. I don't care how silly it is, I love the camaraderie here. I learn something nearly here every day also.
** Harry should pay you a commission.**
Thanks, great idea. I'll get with Harry on that.

995?
Why not 1000? Guilt? Like, "well I've done 100 but if I say 995 it's still three digits, but if I say 1000 that's one whole extra digit and I just couldn't live with myself." What an odd number to make up.

Re: Truth in Advertising?
My favorite is the former owner of United Notaries (Who owes a lot of us money) going out on his own as a signing agent and claiming something like 50,000! He's counting the ones he didn't actually do but assigned out!

this is a strange post
I was accused once of not being a corporation from someone on this site, because according to California my LLC was canceled. She sent me a terrible email and was accusing me of lying.
She didnt look that I had changed my statues to C corp. She didnt realize that I was a Partnership before I was an LLC. Not that it mattered at all what my statues was as long as we pay our bills and am fair with those who agree to work with us.
The practice of "outing people" is it very productive? Maybe its good entertainment

Did you ever stop to think that they may have renewed their commission? That would account for the high number of loans they did. DD

It's always been my practice to post half-truths, innuendo and half-baked ideas I pull out of thin air on NR.
I just make up crap as I go along.
For cryin' out loud. Of course I considered that before I posted it...without a name attached....they know who they are.
