Help for Barbara Harvey in Santa Barbara, CA

I want to thank this board's unbelievable response to Barbara Harvey's homeless plight. Several of you have been so generous to offer kind assistance to aid Barbara. If you could meet her personally, she is a very kind, sweet woman who needs our help. I always say, what goes around comes around, and it has proved true in many instances in my life when things were not going so well. We are empowered to help others from time to time for good reasons.

Even if our hearts are full and our bank accounts are empty sometimes just a tap on the shoulder to someone who needs reassurance is the greatest gift to one who is down on their luck.

Again, thank you one and all for your quick response. Your compassion and concern are immeasurably important.

This is what I hoped for when I posted the link. Just because you are far away or strapped yourself does not mean that words of encouragement do not have an effect. This is networking at its best. I am glad to hear she is upbeat.

At least she knows that there are people out here who care about her situation!

The cup of human kindness fills one act at a time. If

everyone who could spare just five dollars and a stamp chipped in, Barbara could reunite with her daughter in a modest little place. Not a hand-out, but a hand up.

When poverty or circumstance separates parent from child, a family is in crisis. We have the power to heal Barbara and her daughter's excrutiating pain of separation with our vast networking, our willingness to part with five bucks, and our resolve to add some drops to the kindness cup.

Pay it forward, good people, it really works.

Re: And the place that started it all. . .

I just got off the phone with Sara at New Beginnings. Supporters of Barbara Harvey can make their donations directly to this agency through pay pal.

Here is their website. http://www.newbeginningscounselingcenter.org/donate.html

If you've already sent a check to me, I'll forward on to Barbara Harvey c/o New Beginnings...they are four blocks from my office.

Thank you one and all!

This is perfect, I was wondering how to get money to Barbara when she probably can't cash checks too easily.
