Laser Printer Resolution
What is the difference in the quality of printing if you use 300 compared to 600 or 1200?

None visible to the naked eye. Try it & see for yourself. However, the 'save toner' feature does produce quite visible & negative results.

I took a loan signing class with you almost 4 years ago and you said in that class that we should use the 300dpi to print the loan docs since there was no difference on quality of print. So why are you asking that question today?

Joan, I've got to give you credit--you're a great marketeer-whether it's plugging your classes or your book. However, if you want to send Sue your book, you could have very well sent her a PM -- but then the book and your email would not have been visible without clicking your profile.

Maybe short term memory loss. Your class must have been the last time I ever mentioned it. Not a new book in the making but I am updating.

Joan - Higher resolution printing is for the printing of graphics that have lots of detail. For printing of documents, if you can, change the default configuration of your printer to the lowest resolution. Anything higher than 300 is really waste of toner and will take longer to process. Thus the lower the resolution you save toner and time.
I know both my 1200 and 1320 will only go to 600 dpi when using PCL5e or PCL6 drivers. For the PS driver I can reduce it to 300 but will still take longer to print because PS driver is for graphics printing.
