People are strange

I had a signing yesterday. I had a call from the signing company advising me that the borrowers had to bring money to the table. I asked if they knew and was told yes. I asked if they could write a personal check, that was O K . I get to the signing, the borrowers had no knowledge of a check being required. They called the loan officer and after a long conversation agreed to provide the money. The wife goes down the hall and come back a little while later with a stack of cash. I'm in shock. I asked don't you have a checking account, they did, but she didn't want the money in the bank, it was HER stash. After explaining for a while that I couldn't be resposible for that money and it was going thru UPS she finally agreed to have her husband go to the bank today to cover a check. Got to admit very trusting.

knew a lady, several yrs ago.. divorced.. ex-husband ran a bunch of car washes..
he would bring her child support once a month - black trash bag full of $1 bills !!
So she would stick it in her bedroom closet - until she was ready to deal with sorting
it all out and bringing some of it to the bank..

Another one - when I was a Commercial Teller @ a bank here .. another Divorce.. the
couple was literally fighting over the kitchen table.. (well, table n chairs..)
In the settlement, the woman WON the set but had to pay the husband $2,500..
I was told to help her - so we loaded up $2500 in bagged pennies into the back of her
Ford Expedition with gold trim - stress tested those shocks big time LOL
And off to the attorney's office she went..

I've got one better. I did purchase and the borrower pulled 42,000 out of all his jacket, shirt and pants pockets. I asked him what was I supposed to do with this... Need less to say I sent him to the bank for a cashiers check which happened to down the street from his business which is where we were signing. He sister told me he always carries large amounts of cash like this...

Thanks for the chuckle. Reading your posts was just as funny as watching old re-runs of "America's Funniest Videos". This was simply hilarious!
