Question for those who do weddings

Is there a rough equivalent to Notary Rotary for people who perform weddings? Are there Sites to avoid?

I'd be happy to share what I've learned so far, and exchange tips with people with whom I won't be competing.

Having recently become a Justice of the Peace, I'd like to avoid being sucked into something like the XYZ Association for wedding officiants....

No sites that I know of Ernest.

But, if you need samples of wedding vows, this is a great site:

I haven't found any forums, but I haven't been looking either. What have you learned? I'd be interested to hear.

I have found a few listing sites specifically for Florida and I advertise for free on them. I also utilize the free merchant sites to increase my google rankings. Craigslist works too.

Feel free to check out my site for some ideas. http://yourverobeachwedding.com/default.aspx

Ernest,

My son and his wife were married by a J P last September. She was great...almost a wedding planner. She was thoroughly conversant with religious preferences that people may have even with a civil ceremony. She met with the bride and groom several times to refine the ceremony. Assisted with suggesting vows and readings by friends of the bride and groom at the wedding. She assisted also with the wedding rehersal. She was also able to suggest local musicians. In our case we wanted a piper to play before the ceremony.

Congradulations on your appointment.

a few websites for your to check out...

www.decidio.com and www.wedplan.net.

Check them out, they have both been good for business. These are PPC (pay per click) websites, with low low fees/costs.

I also run a wedding service, with two pages on my notary website dedicated to this service.

(NOT ROT: I'm not trying to advertise, so please do not post Smile )

Feel free to contact me on my personal email if you want to connect and share advice!

Earnest,

This is a yahoo group (WeddingOfficiants) you can join where we all support each other, if you are an ordained or licensed officiant or a notary public that performs weddings. I have learned a lot of great stuff there, to help with all the weddings I have performed.

Regards,

Tony Myers
