Received this from Old Republic Title Company!

Hello,
We are looking for individual notary's.
Our pricing-
$85 1st mtg e-docs $70 heloc e-docs $50 no sign/no show fee.
If you are interested, please fill out the vendor packet and email it back or fax

These are fees I would not feel comfortable accepting from a signing service! Not a good sign, but expected, as so many have jumped on the low fee band wagon. I wonder where it will end?

Old Republic is a very large insurance company. They underwrite many other smaller title companies. I can guaranty that many of the title companies that use Old Republic pay more. You need to post EXACTLY whom you are speaking about.

It came from Akron, Ohio. This came from a customer service department that handles appraisals, surveys, abstracts, closings etc....Not a direct ORTC branch office.

I wish I could remember what company it was - they sent me one like that, and If
I promised to accept $40 a signing, they would keep me very busy!! YIKES
I would rather hang out at the mall than take on this kind of work for that amount.
I'm not a Non-Profit organization!

Send it back with YOUR fees...

they'll still call you sooner or later.

Re: Send it back with YOUR fees...

Are you kidding? You think they will go from $40 up over to a 3digit offer??
I have a hard enough time getting companies to match a 3digit offer when
they wanted to pay $75... !

Got the same e-mail a couple of weeks ago

I e-mailed back and asked if the fees were negotiable. I didn't hear from them so I went ahead and filled out the application with my fees. Right before I was going to fax it back to them, I received an e-mail saying that they couldn't offer any more than the $85 with e-docs. I faxed the application anyway, because as was stated, if they need you, they'll call you. Well, I just received an e-mail on Monday, Tuesday of this week saying they had received my application and they wanted to put me in their data base and also wanted to make sure that I understood that $85 with edocs was their fee. So I e-mailed back and said not to bother to put me into their data base as the fees they were offering were just an insult.
