Recommissioning in NC

Do any of you other NC notaries have any idea how much time I should allow in order to get my new commission? I can't find any information about the lead time I need on the SOS website. I'd appreciate any information. TIA

buried in the FAQ on the SOS website:

29. How far in advance may a notary apply for reappointment?
No earlier than ten weeks before the commission expiration date.

My business partner was just recommissioned. The turn around time was about 3 weeks from the SOS's office. When you go to get sworn in again, the ROD's offices around here are requiring $10 cash, no checks, the recommission letter, and your DL. They say they've had a problem with bouncing checks. I think the SOS's office is also waiting until the checks clear.
