TEAsI offered by NNA
Last week I remember seeing a discussion on the NNA TEAs. I can't find the discussion link at this time. I am curious to get your opinion about this "new" work for notaries. I signed up to become a TEA, but I was told that I would have to have a background check and the cost was $49. I just recommissioned in PA and renewing in Delaware and was wondering why I would need to have a background check. Am I missing something? I know that you can't have any criminal issues surrounding and being a notary so why is a background check necessary? Any information that you can give, I would greatly appreciate. Thank you.

Thank you JanCA. I thought I read something recent, but couldn't be sure.

Re: TEAsI offered by NNA Oh My Gosh!
Just read essage 247115 and realized I had been had again by NNA. I did sign up but with an open book exam and the answers right in front of you, NNA says you did not pass so I have given up - I guess for the better.
