"No Work"

I read this daily. Then I turn around and read:

I won't leave my house for less than $xxx.

I won't accept same day e-docs.

The company must be on my approved list.

If I don't have docs 2 hours prior to the appointment I turn it back.

I laughed at the scheduler.

It took me 2 hours to print the docs.

I made up a form so borrowers could better understand their loan.

I only accept 2 appointments a day and then I am unhappy when one of them cancels and I've turned others away.

I did them a 'favor' and then ...

I told them I'd accept the lower fee 'this one time' and then when I received the instructions I had to print xxx and fax back xxx and split the package and ...

They don't pay if the loan doesn't fund so I never take their work.

I could go on and on. And yet I still read "No Work". Peter in Florida last week thought the few who post they still have work have another 'agenda'. Perhaps not another agenda but a different 'method' of doing what's necessary to stay busy.

Hallelujah and Amen

It's not exactly brain surgery is it?
But I guarantee there are some who still won't get it, Sue.
Not unless you write it in crayon.

You're just being mean again Sue

Some people just don't want to hear the truth. They don't want to hear that some can still succeed while they're failing. Take your truth and logic and level head and common sense elsewhere. They don't want it. They just want a group hug.

Mostly agree, but I think I know what PeterRado meant

I think he was saying that some people who are saying business is booming have a product to sell and they are the only ones who know the secrets to the booming business.

There are definitely those who say they are doing well or making $300 a signing (I can't even type that without feeling slimmy) because they're trying to sell us on their classes or their latest book (which begs the question, if they're doing so well with their signings, why do they keep shoving their books and classes down our throats all over the Internet on an almost daily basis?). But there are plenty of others who are doing well because they've learned what it takes and how to adapt. Two years ago, I never thought that the majority of my signings would be reverse mortgages, loan mods, e-signings, and REO signings. And two years from now it may be something else. As REO Speedwagon says, ya gotta roll with the changes.

It is hard to distinguish between whining & venting -- and some people don't know the difference. There are some areas of the country that are really hard hit. It is much too quiet of many of the boards. This is a tough market, and IMO we need to sharpen up our professionalism.
All the uncertainty going on with this economy is getting to all of us. I find I'm hesitant on jumping into e-signings (mainly because of the additional costs). I've heard it so many times--successful people know to take more risks in tough times & come out ahead.

They have to be calculated risks, just taking risks is

foolhardy.
