Well I just received the bankruptcy papers on Archer so forget about getting paid on outstanding invoices.

Didn't a few recently post they'd received payment? Hope those payments are subject to "recall"...
There goes my $90...grrr....

Ah ... too bad they went belly-up. They were one of my favorites: Always paid at the high-end of my scale; No hoops to jump thru; Matt really was "Cool". Even the good guys are falling like flies these days. :>(

Re: Archer Land Title- if paid at the end, maybe not.....
Well, I thought I was one of the lucky ones that was paid at disbursement but just got off the phone with my bank and it is being returned. I guess I need to read that bankruptcy letter a little more closely. I have never had this happen to me. Guess I am in the big league now.

...Always paid at the high-end of my scale...
exact opposite here - I took very little from them because they were at the low-end and always tried for lower.

They used to pay very well until about 6 months ago. Everytime I see TCs asking us to take less it usually means trouble is coming. I've noticed these companies never lower the fees they are charging on the HUD. I'm glad that this time I am only owed for getting a mortgage signed.

I got the bankruptcy notice today also, but checked my records also and I last worked for them in June, so I'm in the clear thank goodness. Seems like I have at least one "deadbeat" a year that doesn't pay.

I am only owed for overnight docs and the bank fee. Still not clear if it is a "recall" or NSF. Bank wont be able to tell me until tomorrow.

Bouncing Payoff checks
One of the notaries in my network said that one of the borrowers called her because they were notified by their current 1st and 2nd lenders that the payoff checks bounced.

Re: Bouncing Payoff checks..thats not good,
Archer just bounced my check. I thought I was ok because I was listed on the HUD. Guess I was wrong!

Re: Bouncing Payoff checks..thats not good,
I havent received anything from them and looks as though I wont be getting paid either. I did file with the Attorney General hope that helps. There should be something that would help us from getting screwed from these bad companies.

Re: Bouncing Payoff checks..thats not good,
Filing with the AG wont do any good now that they have filed for bankruptcy. My check bounced as well. So I will wait for the new letter on how to file my claim. In the mean time, will not worry about it as there is nothing I can do. Yes, I am sad of the loss of a decent company to work for and less than thrilled with the bounced check and the fees that go with it. Goes with being in business for yourself. Sadly......

Well at least they didn't owe me as much as some of the other companies did and since I never got a check from them, I don't have to worry about the bounced check fees!! They have been around awhile so it is sad that another company has suffered due to this economy.
