CA Jurat with the penalty of Perjury paragraph...

What are they smoking? Should I cross out that? What do you think?

What does your manual say? Do think, do the right thing. Better yet, do what feels good, and clear out of the notary world so that others who pay attention can get this job and just do it.

How lame...

PM me your commission number...

... because I'd be happy to sacrifice some time talking with the Sec. of State to find out what, exactly, they're smoking in Sacramento. I'll ask that they respond to you personally. Consider it a gift.

Re: PM me your commission number...

The CA acknowledgment contains the phrase "under penalty of perjury" but the jurat does not.

Well, *I* know that. I was really being more sarcastic that anything else. I think it didn't quite come out right. Oh, well.

put a line though say see attach and put your attachment on doc with a staple in it.
i seen a loan company do this on a sworn statement before .....also you get out of state docs with the wrong notary wording for California i just draw a line say see attach and it has the correct wording.

I'm a bit confused as to why you're asking this at all..

Obviously you shouldn't be crossing out this wording - it's been mandated by your SOS since January, 2008 - here we are 11 months later and you're just now asking this question? Don't tell me you've been crossing it out for 11 months...

Re: I'm a bit confused as to why you're asking this at all..

Come on Linda, I am in CA and in CA no Jurat has to have a "Penalty of Perjury" for the notary I was been sarcastic about escrow companies that prepare this documents and what kind of thing they are smoking to have the correct jurat wording but they also add the last part of the ACK. That's why I have never commented on someone asking a question that is state specific.
