Cogent Closing Associates - Beware

There were some negative posts about Cogent Closings last week. I have five invoices for September and one for October outstanding. I have left four messages for Carmella, sent her an email, left a message for Todd Ehrlich, a manager at Cogent, and left a message for Angela at Lenox Financial, and have not received a response from any of them.

It appears that Cogent is another company biting the dust.

Re: Cogent is using Dynamic Field Solutions to book closings in

You would think that after Cogent used Coversign as their SS and got burned when Coversign didn't pay their notaries, that if Cogent was going to contract with another SS, they would at least have checked them out to see if they actually pay their notaries! But then again perhaps that is not important to Cogent, as they have been getting a bad rep themselves lately for not paying the notaries they hired directly.

If I were you I would start legal proceedings in small claims court. With that many invoices outstanding, it may be well worth your while, and, if they default on the claim they will not only owe you for your invoices but court costs as well. JMO - I am not an attorney, blah, blah, blah.

If I live in NC, can I file in small claims court in GA?

Re: Cogent Closing Associates - Lynn

Check online for your small claims court rules but you may be able to file where the damages occurred - your own location.

I found the state of Georgia small claims court procedures onine. I will not be able to file a claim as I would have to appear in court in Atlanta where Cogent Closings operates.
