Re: Field inspectors
Does anyone know anything about NCCI (National Creditors Connection Inc)?? They do on site inspections. Looks interesting but they want to know everything about you. We appreciate anything anyone can tell us about them

Re: Field inspectors
Really know 'not much'. Except they used to pay better and are now looking for new, cheaper inspectors. The amount of info they want is a turnoff and I just don't like the sound of their 're-chase for free' policy. I didn't send it back because I don't need another questionable co.

Re: Field inspectors
They pay, but yes they can send you on a re-chase for free, you basically need to interview a delinquint debtor, ask him to get on the phone with the collector and take a photo of the property and/or collateral, they pay $15.00 for this.............

I'm with you on this, Lee.
I didn't send my packet back because of their re-chase policy. At least the longer I hold out, the better the fees seem to become. Here's what they sent me today.
0-5 miles from you - $20
6-10 miles from you - $25
11-15 miles from you - $30
16+ miles from you - Negotiated at the time of scheduling.

Yep, I noticed the slight fee improvement, too.
Still... that re-chase business coupled with another poster's remark about making you re-chase when there is no add'l information given REALLY is a turnoff. Can make a barely profitable assignment into a total loser...no matter what you do. Nah!

Re: Yep, I noticed the slight fee improvement, too.
Hello all, I have read all of your comments and can understand why you are a bit reluctant to start as an inspector for NCCI or any on-site inspection company. May I just say, please do not let the "Chases or re-chases" scare you away. NCCI has made vast improvements within the past few months and you will not be disappointed if you sign up to do inspections. The average pay to complete an onsite is $30.00. They have removed the middlemen on the on-site inspeciton piece so you will be dealing with their scheduling specialist directly. There is a large opportunity for other inspection work for you such as - property condition report inspections, external inspections, etc. Please do not let prior experinces turn you away from building a partnership with NCCI. Trust me... you will not be disappointed once the New NCCI on-site division kicks in within the next week. Send in your packets. They do not deduct any funds from your account though ACH. This is only a way for you to get your pay directly deposited into your account quickly. You don't have to do direct deposit, but for your sake, it is alot quicker and "VERY SAFE".
NCCI does require a background check be completed, but this is only for the safety of their clients/customers and you. Because they are working with banking institutions, Credit bureaus and data furnishers - quality inspectors are a necessity. You only need to provide one clear copy of your drivers license (This is for a photo id card they will provide to you) once you pass the background check and are set-up as a independent on-site inspector.
Thank you for your time. If you have any questions... please respond to this message. I will answer any questions you may have.

Re: Field inspectors
I've never done these, though I have been approached by a couple of companies, including NCCI. The fees for both appear to be ridiculously low, compared to what I and other notaries charge for other services. For notarizing a records affidavit at a time convenient for me, collecting the records and mailing them, for example, I charge $50 within the city limits; outside is negotiable.

Re: Field inspectors
I had done some in 2007. At that time they were paying $25.00 per interview It worked out ok at the time because I could do 3 in the span of 1.5 to 2 hrs at minimal cost to me. The rechases turned me off especially when there was no more information to be had. After informing them of a death in my family and my unavailability until after tax time they haven't called me at all in 2008. Since they have appeared to have lowered their fees considerably I find it to be no loss.

Re: Field inspectors
I started with NCCI and they paid "reasonable" fees. After a few months, they assigned me to a regional director (Northwest Chasers in Washington State) who in turn keeps approx. $10 of each chase. I limited my servicing area when gas prices went sky-high and the volume of chases is still good enough to pay for all car-related expenses including auto payment. They pay like clockwork every week. Notify them when I'm taking time off and then again when I'm ready to re-start. Never a problem.
Not the best of all worlds but beats wondering how I'm gonna meet that car loan ... :~}

Can you schedule the chases yourself around closing business?

Re: Field inspectors
You let them know which zip codes you'll cover, they assign you "chases" within those parameters, you have approx. 3 business days to complete chase and submit report with digital pix. Chases are allowed 9 am to 9 pm. So, to answer your question, Lynn: Yes.

Not with NCCi, and not in my area. M-F we must complete field "chases" between 4-9 PM, and anytime 8am-9pm weekends. I can often work closings around my field work, but often don't get a 72 hour turnaround, since it goes through the regional first, for assigning, more like 48. If you decide to do this, be very selective with your zip codes choices vs. the fees, you can get yourself stuck putting on 200 miles for less than $200. And.....don't forget the input/download afterwards, will take almost as long as the chases themselves.

Re: Chases are allowed 9 am to 9 pm
NCCI may prefer 4-9. However, I did point out to them that legally, field chases are allowed 9-9. They never questioned my earlier runs again. I will admit, though, that it was shortly after that exchange that I was assigned to regional. (funny how that happens ...)

Wow, that isn't even an option here. It's 4-9 weekdays or go bye-bye.

None. Some refuse to open door. Most are glad for the opportunity to get some relief they didn't know was out there for them.
