I thought the name Victoria Ruiz sounded familiar... I searched her name here on NotRot and turns out she is Vikki from One Touch Closings - a company well known for non-payment!!!!

Yes, Vikki Ruiz operated as One Touch & has a bad rep. I think there was some talk that it had to do with partners, or something. Anyway, I would beware.

1 Touch Closings did have a bad reputation and I tried to turn it around as much as I could within 6 months. I could only do so much with the resources I was given and the authority that I had as well. I handled scheduling, doc issuing, and verfication of the completion of closings. I was able to cut payments however I did not have the authority to sign them. I left the company about a month ago and have started my own. Again, payment practices of 1 Touch are not payment practices of Proficient Signings as my notaries are well aware of.

I did work for 1 Touch Closings and have not worked for them since I parted ways with the company a little over a month ago. I have opened my own company since then.

1 Touch Closings payment practices are not practices of my company. I issue payment within 30 days as notaries who have performed closings for my company are aware of.

Well, here's the thing...

You already know Vikki's rep with 1 Touch was bad - she left that company owing a lot of notaries - what makes you think she'll be any different just because it's a new name??

Good Luck to you -

Linda H ,

Very well stated ! Learn from your past mistakes. If they "burn" you once for sure they will do it again. Smile

Again, I was not the one who burned anyone. I did as much as my end of the partnership allowed.

But you are a LIAR

I am assuming you assured many notaries they would be paid. You assured me - in writing. You gave me an order. I called back and said due to payment issues on the notary boards I would be declining. I have an e-mail FROM YOU stating those issues were in the past and everyone was getting paid timely. You said something along the lines of you hoped I'd reconsider after your reassurance. I didn't. Maybe you couldn't write checks but you had to do what you did to schedule, including BEING A LIAR.

Re: But you are a LIAR

Correct, when I was in charge of check cutting I would have assured you the payment issues were in the past. Many notaries I had scheduled received their payments just fine after I cut them accordingly.

However, I noticed after a while the checks were not being issued after they were being cut (which was not my portion to complete as I didn't have authority to sign payments).

I am not a liar but again performed the portion of which my job allowed.

My company does not perform under those payment practices. The notaries I hire are paid in a timely fashion, within 30 days and sometimes sooner!

I would appreciate your professionalism because I can guarantee not 1 notary who has performed closings for my company will state that they have had a payment issue with my company as they might have with 1 Touch Closings.

Re: Well, here's the thing...

I didn't leave the company owing notaries as that was not my portion of the partnership. I had no authority in the signing of payments and could only cut them in addition to scheduling, doc prep and verification of the completion of closings.

I can guarantee no one has ever seen my signature on any checks - Reason being I did not have the authority.

I can understand the hesitation considering the previous company I worked for did have a bad rep. I did do as much as I could and everything I was able in trying turn the company around. However, it was not possible in the end. Therefore, I parted ways.

Notaries who have worked for my company know my payment practices are not in any way a reflection of 1 Touch payment practices.

Re: Here's what I found - note the 10/23/08 date on both

Correct, I removed myself from the company since I terminated my relationship with 1 Touch and began starting the proceedings for opening Proficient Signings.

I love the business I have been in and wanted to continue in the profession.

Proficient Signings pd on time; Victoria kept her word

She was very professional, proactive and responsive. As soon as closining was complete, she initiated request for W-9, etc. Based on her actions , I never felt like I wasn't going to be paid. She was very responsive & answered ALL of my emails quite promptly. Just to be fair - I said I would report my ENTIRE experience w/ her after giving her the benefit of the doubt & she came thru w/ flying colors!

I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to update everyone. Victoria Ruiz called me today to take a 5:30. I told her I had a 4, so I had to have docs by 3:30. "No problem". Could not find BO number, so I emailed her. She was trying to get it. She called me when I said I was leaving for my 4 and told me the borrower wanted me to come at 8:30 instead and she was sending the docs now. I rearranged my schedule so I could do it. It is 9:00 now - NO DOCS, NO Borrower's number, NO PHONE CALL, no return phone call, NO EMAIL - nothing. She has NO RESPECT for notaries or what we do!

Andrea, I sent you an email to apologize as I thought I had sent you an email at the end of the day - With as long as I have had my own company, I never leave someone hanging but this time it was my fault as I thought I sent an email cancelling but looking back through my emails, I didnt.

Sorry for the confusion as I didn't mean to ruin your Friday evening. I should have called in addition to thinking I sent an email. Again, my apologies.

**This was posted in a another conversation thread a while back, I didn't want this to go unnoticed in this thread. ***

I do have respect for notaries and what notaries do as notaries are the heart of my company. This was unfortunately a night I thought I had done something I didn't and I again apologize for that.
