Here is the answer to "how are they still in business?"
I'm sorry, Virginia - nothing personal - but THIS is precisely how/why SOX and other such companies manage to stay in business. People work for them STILL, do not get paid, CONTINUE working for them, and CONTINUE to not get paid, and then - the worst part - they don't go after the money due them.
Think about this - pick a creditor of your's, any creditor, and imagine what THEY would do if you did not pay them. They would simply shrug their shoulders and move on? Is there ANY BUSINESS you engage with that you can imagine doing that 'for' you?! Could you imagine walking out of the grocery store with something as meager as a bag of potatoes, and even begin to imagine not paying for it AND HAVING NO CONSEQUENCES TO THAT ACTION?
How and why SOX manages to stay in business certainly doesn't baffle me in the least - how and why people will "give up" on collecting the money they worked for just blows my mind.
