Speaking of LOW Fees...
Two GREAT OFFERS today which I simply FORCED myself to decline (this is meant sarcastically).
EquiFax at $45
BancServ at $50. Girl at BancServ told me $50 was my base fee that "I HAD LISTED" with them. I responded that I NEVER did a $50 closing for them in 5 years. She told me she was sure she couldn't get a higher fee for me because it was RIGHT THERE IN MY TOWN. These companies still amaze me. Experience and quality don't mean anything anymore. They don't care who closes these loans. Obviously, some newbie will do it for them.
As someone posted in a message yesterday, cheap notaries are ruining it for everyone. They think $45 or $50 is a BIG DEAL.

Re: What is your bottom line?
Notaries who are taking these exceptionally low fees, should examine their costs related to these signings and will quickly realize that they really didn't make enough money when they calculate profit and loss.

Re: What is your bottom line?
Yesterday NSC called for a closing that is 30 miles away for $30.00. They said it was only a few papers to be signed.
My drive time, effort and distance does not count?
The best part is they found some one to the job as they did not call me back.

Re: What is your bottom line?
Ya' know--just because you didn't get a 2nd call, does not mean that somebody took it for the $45 or $50 they said was the maximum they'll pay. It could also just mean that they got tired of calling as they weren't getting any takers, so they just accepted whatever was quoted. For that reason, always, always quote your fee.

Re: What is your bottom line?
I take it is an insult when they offer fees of $30.00 $45.00, etc.... I received a call yesterday for a closing 30 miles from my office sgl re-fi and print 2 sets of docs. Good grief what are they thinking? Then they had the audacity to call again same company different person with same offer. Thanks but no thanks
