Sunset Signings LLC.....

I think the LLC must stand for "Low Life Company" in Ramona, Calfornia. I did a closing for Steve who is the owner of this company. He is a real smooth talker and promised that I would be paid in 2 weeks and would recieve an email telling when payment would be sent out. What a schmuck. He had no intention of paying me in the first place. It is way past 30 days and he will not return my phone calls or answer my emails. I am filing a complaint against him with the california states attorney general and also with Dunn & Bradstreet. I feel like I am going to have to look up every company from now on that calls me since this is not the first time this has happened to me. Sorry to rant but this guy is a no no to work for. It's my own fault for not checking first. I have learned my lesson.

If he is going to pay after 2 months then that is what he should tell people. He promised me over and over it would be 2 weeks. I did the closing on Sept 26th. If he would at least answer my phone calls or reply to my emails it might help but he won't even do that. Well he didn't until I emailed the lender and the title company with a cc to him. Now all of a sudden he is replying to me. I say Beware of the guy. Why should a notary have to beg to be paid in a timey manner anyway.

Hi Joy I had the same problem with Steve also. I had a closing on 8/28 but I was eventually paid after numerous phone calls. I received my payment on 9/22. I am also from MI. Hopefully you will receive it soon. I know what you mean by being a sweet talker.

I contacted the lender and the title company and informed them that this was a non paying company and urged them to cease all dealings with Steve and his company. I also cc the email to Steve and wouldn't you know it Steve wrote back to me right away. He says he mailed the check to me 2 weeks ago.....yeah right. So why didn't he return my phone calls or answer the emails I sent saying I hadn't received the check yet. He is bad news and unless he changes his ways more and more people will not work for him. We will see how long it actually takes him to get the payment to me once Dunn & Bradstreet contact him.

Their motto, per Signing Central, "QUALITY ABOVE EVERYTHING " which they say they expect their NSA's to "adhere to". Looks like they have a different standard for themselves, eh?

Starting a small claims judgement will be my next step. I did notify the lender and the title company that this was a non paying company. I did this by email and also did a cc to Steve himslef. Now in the past he has completely ignored my phone calls as well as my emails to him. Once I notified the lender and title company wouldn't you know it he wrote back to me and this is what he said:

Dear Joy,

We're not sure why you felt it necessary to send this email as we have emailed you twice regarding your payment and those emails stated that your payment was sent out and has not been returned to us as undeliverable and has NOT been cashed yet. If you would verify your payment address again, we can check that against our records, but payment confirmation was sent to you over two weeks ago.

It sure is funny that now he is going to reply to my emails when before he just ignored them. I also got another email that said he had the wrong mailing address (yeah right) but that he would get another check right out to me. We will see. I know I won't do business with him again but then I am sure he won't want to work with me either.

Please note that this signing was paid after we was made aware of the issue which our accounting department should have taken care of and did not in a timely manner. We asked this notary to post that they had been paid for the signing, but that requested was denied by the notary. Thank you.
