Alternate income
I broke down and purchased a list of service based industries ($25) that are sometimes listed on here. I must tell you that it worked very well and I made almost $1500 in 2 weeks. I was paid within 3 weeks. Amazing in these hard times.

I'm doing pretty well with field service work, too. But I bought Becca's list but it was only $9.95.

What service based industry list sells for $25 & is listed
here on NotRot? Members have brought up a list that I sell on this forum, but I only charge $9.95 for it.
I did get a call from a guy in CA a few weeks ago asking if I was for real because he had purchased a list similar to mine for $25 and never received it. Is this you?

Becca
Could it be that someone bought your list, and is now re-selling it?

Very sad and very wrong, but IMO not stealing
List was paid for...unless she has a disclaimer that it's not for resale then it's not stealing...MHO

She doesn't need a disclaimer, it IS stealing

Here's the deal...
I've said this many, MANY times...All of the company information on the Field Inspection Company List is readily available to anyone that wants to take the time to compile the information themselves. All I am doing is offering the list without the work. I’ve already done the leg work and want to pass along the list for a nominal fee. Having the list will save you hours of research online.
The list I offer is compilation of now six web based lists that I took the time to collate, alphabetize delete duplicates, add notations and hyper link. After doing this a few times, I decided to just add additional lists that I found to the list because it was really time consuming. The bottom line is that the list contains public information found on the internet. The lists I used are not copyrighted with the exception of one list and I clearly credit the original author and provide a link to his website.
I believe the list falls under intellectual property laws and I have no intention on copyrighting information that is so freely available to anyone with the wherewithal to find it. On the other hand, if someone has purchased my list and is reselling it for more than what I believe it's worth, I believe they are stealing. Not stealing from me, but stealing from the people that are purchasing the list. Very sad and very wrong.
Is this happening? I doubt it, but this was an interesting conversation nonetheless.

Re: Here's the deal...
Didn't mean to set off such a fire storm. I got the information from a neighbor who is also a notary. Sent the check and got the list. Was suspicious as expected but it has turned out rather well. I am not sure about someone copying someone elses list. They are based somewhere in California. I think the postmark said Lake Forest. Geez...just trying to share some personal good news.

If I borrow a book and use some of the information
then I do not consider it stealing. It would be like going to the library, somewhat.
If I buy the book, then copy it and sell the copies, I am stealing from the original author, whether it is copyrighted or not. It is a moral and ethical issue.
If I purchase the book and then want to discuss the book, quote the book, etc., then I am ethically bound to give credit to the author. If I do extensive quotes, then I should be asking for permission to use/quote. By not giving credit where credit is due I am remiss in my duty, obligation, etc. to the author. And if I do not get permission, or it is denied, then I should not use it but my own paraphrasing is ok.
Sharing between friends is to be expected...recently an author (forgot) said not to buy his book, but to steal it (or something to that effect), and even so, I think that that was a marketing ploy and had you stolen the book, ran mass copies and resold it, I think you would have found yourself not with just a cease and desist order but a summons as well.
JMO along w/logical processes...
