Closing Quest - NEVER PAID

I do not know if any of you conduct closings for Closing Quest, but, I did one for this company in April and here it is October and I NEVER GOT PAID. They constantly toldme it would take 60-days. Well needless to say ah I think October is way more than 60-days. I contacted them on numerous occasions and they assured me I would get paid. I am writing them off. I am not going to get paid. This is just to make everyone aware of those bad companies. I love this job and I jump at the opportunity to conduct a closing for a company, but, I also expect to get paid.

Not sure how true this is - so for you and everyone

else owed money - it was posted elsewhere that Closing Quest closed 9/08 - may be worth some digging on your part to confirm this. I asked for information from the other poster as to how he knew this to be fact and haven't heard back yet - will post if and when a response is received. You'll recall a few days ago it was posted here that Rikki was no longer with the company and I expressed my thoughts that hopefully this wasn't a sign...

CQ doesn't owe me any money so I won't be researching this latest development...just throwing it out there for your consideration.

Good Luck to all of you..

There is a website called notarybeware.com they are a mediation co. between you and the non paying co. I have used them so far and they have gotten me paid with two companies so far. They are working on 2 more. Try them.

Thanks for the info. I do not know if I will try to go after them, I just received another response stating the Company may have gone out of business. It just infuriates me that companies do this to Notaries. They act so as though it is so imperative that we conduct ourselves so professionally and efficient, yet they more than likely know in advance we are not going to get paid.

I think I am going to keep the rating list with me at all times and when a company calls me I am going to check out their rating. And if they have a one star ... no can do. Hopefull this can work. Smile

Thanks for your feedback.

I know this is a frustrating situation. We do 100% and sometimes get stiffed in the end. Good Luck

I have done a lot of closings for Closing Quest and a year or so ago payment was not a problem, They too owe me from February 2008 and it is October 2008. I have been in contact with them and nothing yet. I will not be doing any more work for them either. It's too bad because they were good to work for at one time.

I stopped working for CQ last year when they had problems paying me for the last 2 closings I did for them early in 2007. I had to continue to call and harass them for payment but I did finally receive the check...took 110 days to collect. During the process of me trying to collect from them, I contacted the Tennessee SOS and also the BBB. Well, last Friday, 10/3/08, I received a call from the BBB regarding the complaint I filed with them last year on CQ. I had to laugh a little because it took them over a year to follow up on my complaint from 2007. Must be something in the air or water in Tennessee...people just do not have any sense of urgency.

I was hired by this company back in April I completed 4 jobs for them before I read
comments on the this board. I contacted them right away told them if payment was not
received by the 30 day limit I would report them to IRS. I never received a response then
I contacted Title Co. listed on the HUD ironically it was the same title co. for all four they
were p/o. Title contacted Ricky and we had a three way conversation and Ricky promised
title that they would pay and to give it 30 days. Waited 30 days and no payment.
I then filled out a Small Claims report listing all parties involved along with the report
to IRS and faxed to them. I don't remember the man's name who called screaming and threaten to get my commission taken away but he stated that he was putting payment in the mail that day. I received payment and took it to their bank and cashed that day. Don't ever back down is my answer. I play nice at the beginning but if your not willing to acknowledge me watch out.

I reluctantly did a RESPA for them in April. Still not paid. I filed a complaint with the AG. Got a letter today stating that my complaint is "out of their jurisdiction". I figured Closing Quest already knew that. I'm filing small claims.
