Contacting the TC regarding dead beat SS

I posted a while ago about contacting a particular TC regarding payment problems from a certain SS. I discussed with her about contacting us directly and she thought they were too busy but I just got off the phone with her and due to my discussion and others contacting her they are implementing a new policy of paying us directly and NOT using that SS anymore. So I hope that it was worth losing a busy TC for that SS when all they had to do was paid when promised. Like she said, the TC doesn't want to be dealing with this kind of stuff when they already paid the service. If they get enough calls (unless they are affiliated with the SS) they will likely stop using the dead beat.

also notify the broker, the legal dept. of the lender and the legal dept. of the underwriter. Unless the ss has gone under, or is operated by someone's sibling/spouse, someone will get you your money.

All that said, I see posts on these boards ALL the time that I personally consider premature for collection so if you notify all these entities on day 31 or sooner, youre probably putting yourself out of business.

Depends on the circumstances, Sue

"if you notify all these entities on day 31 or sooner, youre probably putting yourself out of business"

I heard within 3 weeks of signing that a certain SS had gone out of business so I called title to confirm - they told me yes, she'd closed down and they'd already paid her...I attempted twice to get a copy of the canceled check from title and was told both time they "don't do that".... well, after getting no response at all from title I filed a complaint with the state insurance department where the title company does business with copies to all...in this instance I feel I was already getting the runaround so why waste time? MHO

BTW, this is very recent so I'm still waiting to hear on all of it.

Re: Depends on the circumstances, Sue

Sure, that's a different scenario but unfortunately, I'm going to say you're out of luck because she outright lied to you - she was "trouble" for at least two years. No one has 'leverage' over her any longer since she doesn't need to keep her client happy.

You're probably right...

when she contracted me she told me title didn't pay her for 30-45 days...sounded ridiculous to me but, on the out chance that it was true, I contacted tc immediately to try to intercept that payment and get a check cut to me....the girl I spoke with, oddly, could tell me immediately they'd already paid her on my particular closing...without researching...wondering if title's not just as bad as the SS was.... MHO
