Eleventhhoursignings.com and other flaky, non-paying SS's

I'm soon going to be filing a complaint with the IRS and the FBI for fraudulent business practices, my first subject is Eleventhhoursignings.com. If there are others on this board who would like to join me in my complaint, please contact me via PM. I have contacts with both agencies on how to file a claim. I did contact the lender (mortgage broker) and the title company in January, after contacting Paige Tiffany (she assured me I would be paid as I had told her I was reading very bad reviews on her and her company's failure to pay notaries), and neither had any other alternative remedies because "the Signing Service was paid at close of escrow", and they were "sorry" I did not get paid for my services, but they had no responsibility to me. It was Decemer 17 and 19, 2007 that I attended the no show, then second trip to meet borrower in the rain at the public library. It was was one of those "pick-a-payment" loans that World Savings was making up until recently.

When a company doesnt pay and they have contacted you through the internet I believe it is called Internet fraud. To file charges the website is www.ic3.gov.

IC3 will also apply if contact was made by them telephonically, as was my situation, and then followed up with an email confirmation for the closing.

My contact was with Paige Tiffany via telephone, then she sent confirmation and loan docs electronically, which I printed out and had borrower execute. I keep the names of the loan officers, mortgage brokers, and title companies in the event I have to begin collection issues, although they take no responsibility whatsoever in non payment events.

Has any one on this board been contacted by IC3 after you've made your report on their website?

What seems to always work for me if all else fails

I let everyone, including the LO know that when I file a claim with the magistrate I will have no choice but to ask the borrower to act as my witness to acknowledge that I did in fact perform the closing. Nobody likes to hear this and thankfully I've never had to go that far. Maybe something like this will light a fire under all these people who profited (big time I'm sure) from your work. Good luck.

Everyone stiffed should contact the IRS

I'll bet the deadbeat SS's are getting (for example) $200 from the TC, paying the Notary a signing fee of $100 (or less)....stiffing the Notary COMPLETELY and reporting to the IRS that they paid the Notary $100 (or less) when in fact they didn't pay the Notary a dime.

That's a big no-no to the IRS and I'm sure they'd want to know who's doing that.

I bet if the IRS audited SOX, LIA, Signature Company and other known deadbeats that is exactly what they'll uncover. Therefore, IMHO, it is worth it to report the deadbeat to the IRS. If I never see the $160 Signature Company owes me, I'd be satisfied that they're on the IRS "hit list".

Re: Everyone stiffed should contact the IRS

ditto on my never seeing my money from one of the companies you mentioned, and i am going out of my way to contact every agency in pennsylvania and california (including irs) just so the service sees they can run but they can't hide completely or forever.

Lisa, how do you report them without their taxpayer ID No..?

That's required info to complete that form...any checks I get in payment of invoices do NOT contain the payor's tax ID number...and if they're deadbeats I'd bet dollars to donuts they're not going to give up that information freely...

You'd also need to prove your claim...that they intentionally filed a false return...tough road to hoe..MHO

Linda, in the past I have bypassed forms and written a well constructed letter to entities, that included all the infoand details stating my position (or complaint), including copies of facts stated in the letter. My letters were accepted AND replied to. They did not end up in the trash. So I don't need a deadbeat to provide me with anything. I have enough to nail them or at least "raise the hairs on the entities necks".

This is how I see things: ABC Title Co. contracts with EFG Signing Service (at $200) for a loan signing, who then contracts with Minnie Mouse, Notary Public (at $125). Minnie completes the signing, the loan funds, but EFG SS stiffs Minnie for the $125 - they keep it all. Come tax time, ABC TC reported the $200 it paid to EFG SS. EFG SS reports the $200 but fakes a 1099 for Minnie of $125 and claims they profited only $75 so they pay taxes on the $75.

I say they faked the 1099 for Minnie because had Minnie received a 1099 for monies she never got, all hell would break loose and she'd scream "foul" from the rooftops. So Minnie doesn't get a 1099.....she chucks it all up to EFG being a deadbeat and vows not to work for them again, which is what a lot of Notaries do. Meanwhile, EFG SS pays less taxes and benefits from unreported income.

If the deadbeat companies have no ethics or character when it comes to paying its independent contractors, do you think they have any when it comes to taxes? In other words, will they stiff the Notary and then pay taxes on the extra they were never entitled to? Probably not. There are some things that are events (happen once) and others that are a pattern (continuously happen). A long pattern of stiffing Notaries (to me) shows intent to defraud. We see this in Signing Central with complaint after complaint of not being paid. SOX, LIA and Signature Company are some examples that come to mind. There are many others. I'm certain that if they defraud the Notary, they'll defraud the tax collector.

What got mob boss Al Capone imprisoned? Heinous criminal activity and bloody lawlessness? Nope, INCOME TAX EVASION!! Sentenced to 11 years in prison, had to pay an $80,000 fine plus court costs. Two things are definitely certain - death and TAXES!

"after contacting Paige Tiffany (she assured me I would be paid as I had told her I was reading very bad reviews on her and her company's failure to pay notaries)"

And any sympathy I might have had for you just disappeared. If a person makes a habit out of not paying people for their services, why on earth would you believe anything that comes out of their mouth?

When you read a bunch of bad reviews for a company and still decide to work for them, whether it's because they swore to you that they changed, or you believe in giving everyone a fair chance, or you had already accepted the signing and don't play the game of calling back and canceling, or whatever other dumb reasons people have for ignoring the huge red flags waving in front of their face, it's your own fault that you don't get paid.

Would you go out on a date with a known serial rapist? And if so, would you be surprised at the end of the night when you're being violated at knifepoint? Use the same type of common sense when accepting business.
