Questions regarding Quick Claim Deed

have a QCD that has a borrower’s ex-married name on it and she does not have any picture ID as proof to this name. All she has is an old proof of insurance for you car. All other documents have her new name on them and she does have a picture ID as proof. Any suggestions what to do with the QCD in ex-married name?

Re: Questions regarding Quit Claim Deed

Not your call to make - Call the party that hired you - explain the problem..maybe she can sign 'Jane Doe f/k/a Jane Smith".... (ID has name Jane Doe so you can do that)

Linda is right, it is a quit claim deed

As a notary you really should know thew correct names of the docs and what they do. A quit claim deed gives up (quits) all interest in a property. There may be no value to the property or the deed, I can give you a quit claim deed to your own home and there is no warranty attached to a quit claim deed. In other words it may not mean a thing! Al it says is that I am giving you all my interest if there is any.

Charles, last week I couldn't stand it anymore. There is

an add in our Sunday paper every week advertising vehicle title transfers. They also do "quick" claim deeds the ad reads. I just had to call them and let them know the correct word. They seemed shocked that they were wrong and would see what they could do to fix it. They are a fly by night company and it drives me crazy. We'll see if this weeks paper has it correct.

There was an ad on our local TV about 6-8 months ago

An ATTORNEY advertising "Quick Claim Deeds"...I almost choked!! They yanked the ad and I can't say I've seen his firm advertising again!!

I can do you one better

Not real estate related, but the other day I was browsing job listings on Monster.com and saw one where the company had misspelled its own name in the ad. Twice. It should have been "Wright" and they had "Wight".

The kicker? The company who placed the ad was a marketing firm.

The document is a Quit Claim Deed...

...not a Quick Claim Deed.
