Speaking of Secretaries of State
I mailed in my change of name via certified mail in August, along with a change of address. When I still hadn't recieved my new commission by a month later I called to see if I should be concerned. I was told that the address change had been done but the name change was done by someone else and that they were just working on the ones from May
Four months behind???? That is unbelieveable. Although in my other day job I work with the Courts and the Sacramento court is between 4 and 5 months late in returning filed papers. If we are one day late in filing anything we get sanctioned, why can they be 4 -5 months behind???
I'm not going to sweat it because I can still perform notarizations with the present commission, and I'm in no hurry to buy new seals since I just renewed my commission in February, but come on.... 4 months??????

Mine expires Nov 28 this year. Even though I took the class 6 months back, I was told that I would not hear anything until a month before. So we will see.
I was told by a contact in the State Capitol that when a state worker is on sick leave, quits or is terminated, they are not being replaced. The SOS's office actually needs some extra people because they are too light, but because of illegals eating up $15 billion of our tax money annually, they can't find the money during the budget crisis to properly staff the SOS's office.
Sorry for getting political, just could not help myself.

I m not very sure of this statement Glenn, when I worked for a big income tax firm, you would not believe how many people put so much money into the system and they never got back any refunds. Hey but that was just my experience after doing hundreds and hundreds of tax returns for illegals that were using those ITINS.

Well, I don't know what illegal in general gets their taxes done professionally, but just by my experience over my 40 years dealing with that stuff before I retired, a good chunk of illegals work "under the table" for cash with no taxes paid whatever. Others that use a stolen or made up ss# that the employer doesn't check claim so many dependents, that no income tax is withheld, although they do pay FICA. This is well documented. The notion that they put more into the system than they take out has been disproven time after time. When raids were done in the Imperial Valley of So Cal and the agricultural areas of Arizona under their prop 200 and the Arizona Legal workers act confirmed this. It would be interesting to hear on the politics forum from those in Arizona how their prop 200 and the Arizona Legal Workers Act has affected their budget. Their state has a surplus this year when many others are in deficit. Oklahoma also has a surplus since their more strict immigration. Mexico's second larges source of income (oil is #1) is money sent from the United States from people working here . See you in politics ....
See you in politics.
