The excise tax on arrows is now lifted ....
If it still includes this piece of the $100+ million pork tacked onto the bill, then 24 unemployed low-wage workers who make arrows might get their jobs back. Well, one Senator can go home proudly crowing, "Although I didn't like the Wall Street bailout and the pork projects added to get the bill passed, I voted for it to save jobs in our community."

Re: The excise tax on arrows is now lifted ....
This probably should be in Just Politics Bobbi
But apparently the excise tax on arrows relates to the ones made for children. Apparently they had the same excise tax on children's wooden arrows that they did on hunter's arrows. So on a 30 cent children's arrow there was a 37 cent excise tax.
They are saying that those amendments to the bill were tax bills that had been voted on and agreed to long before, and they aren't actually pork.
(Not saying I buy that, but that is what they are saying)
