The case of the missing notary signing agent

I just received a call from a title company to do a closing this evening. It is being done for the second time.

The borrowers actually signed all of the documents last week, but the package never reached the title company. Not only that, the title company can't reach the notary signing agent to ask her if she dropped it off or what happened to it.

I'm really surprised at how often this sort of thing . . .

happens. I can remember once when the hiring signing company posted a string of posts here on NotRot concerned about a MIA signing agent. Her concern seemed legit. Not only was she concerned about the docs but she certain something bad had happened to the notary.

I'll tell you this much. If ANYONE posts on this site saying that Michelle/AL was hired to close a loan and hasn't been heard from since - I want all of you start a prayer vigil for me immediately. Something would have to be terribly wrong. (Candles and placard signs would also be welcomed.)
