Timios
I asked Timios the following: "Rumor has it that you are part of Lenders First Choice or used to be part of LFC is this true? Were you in any way affiliated with them?"
This is the response to the email that I got from them: "Good afternoon, I understand there are some concerns in this market about who you are working with and the credibility of the company. Timios, Inc. is not part of or affiliated with LFC. There are current employees of Timios, Inc. that were previously employed by LFC and suffered some of the same financial losses that you and other notaries, abstractors and vendors alike may have faced. The previous employees of LFC did not receive back wages, current wages, accrued vacation etc. when LFC closed. The closure of LFC was a result of the parent company failure and not because of a flawed business model. Timios however, is a new independent company and has every intention of being successful and we hope that you would be on board to move forward with us in this business relationship. We are simply working to create an opportunity for ourselves and our vendors to succeed. Please contact me with any further questions you may have."
Having been burned by LFC badly a little leary..Any thoughts?

This was mentioned a few days ago, too. (Msg#266527). Their email lists the following contact information:
Siri Hall Vice President of Account Management Phone: 877-884-6467 Cell: 805-320-5642 Fax: 1-800-521-1406 [e-mail address]
Also, Philip Johnson noted another forum where the company was being discussed. Messages were being answered by a Matthew Hall, VP National Title Operations.
He said in that forum:
----------- Timios, Inc. is privately owned and does not have a parent company that will jeopardize the success of the company. As many of you probably know LFC was owned by Mercury Companies, Inc. There are all kinds of articles out there regarding the sale of Mercury to Fidelity. The key is LFC was shut down as a direct result of the failure of Mercury.
Timios, Inc. is well funded and owned by management. The success of the company is not tied to the success of other sister companies. All of you know LFC was a very successful company, and the company never suffered losses even in the worst of markets. That said, we know the model and how to run the business, so we have every expectation to be around for a long time to come.
On a personal note, I was just as shocked as all of you when LFC closed their doors. I was not paid for accrued vacation and salary earned as well. I do however, hope to work with all of you going forward.
Sincerely,
Matthew Hall ---------
